Now the specifics:
Monday was yard work. It didn’t really need done but we didn’t want it to get out of hand. It rained a little last week so it wasn’t so dusty. An easy job. Belt slipped off the spindles on the mower deck which chewed it up so had to bring that into the shop and replace that before continuing. Need to buy a new one for standby.
Did a lot of administrative type stuff this week. It’s that time of the year when we have to make decisions on medical plans. Since the company is constantly changing the rules it’s almost like a yearly ritual going back over things. This year we decided to stay with what we have. The company will no longer contribute to our HRA so the premiums will be my responsibility for our vision and dental. We will stay with the United Health Care Advantage Plan. It has been doing well for us. Also time to seed the medical bank account we have. It pays our co-pays and premiums. Also had to get money to pay the property tax on the additional property we bought next to what we got with the house. All this took about a day and a half out of this week.
If you have been keeping up with the saga on the motorcycle, I continued that effort this Wednesday. Took all the fairings off which is a major job in itself. Spent several hours looking over all the wiring harnesses and wiggling things trying to make it fail, all to no avail. I’m going to conclude it’s in one of the computer modules. I’ll get some prices this week and see if it’s something I can afford to do or if I’m going to just take the thing back to the dealer and see how much money I’m going to get. More to come.
Been keeping up with the CW efforts. It’s really been a challenge. I’ve decided to stop worrying about trying to use a straight key and just get comfortable with the paddles. I seem to be doing better with them. After I get relatively proficient at copying and using the paddles, then I’ll try to hone my skills with the straight key. Did my Zoom classes Wednesday and Friday. That was all good.
Last Sunday went to visit my friend Gary. He is in very good spirits. Claims he is going to be able to stand in a couple weeks. I will believe that when I see it. If he can that would be great. He will be able to get into and out of bed easier and into the car. Time will tell.
I’m seeing some things that are giving me concern about some of my friends. I will have to make some phone calls this week to check on them.
Well that’s about it for this week. Hope this finds everyone safe and healthy. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again next week.
After reading your blog this week, now I know why I got a phone call! 🙂 Great to talk with you and Kathy and for the information. Keep you posted.
