Another extremely busy week………………………………………………………..
As always, first the chronology:

Home and did the blog. Out to see Gary. Home, picked up Kathy and over to Cattleman’s Roadhouse for dinner. A stop at Walmart on the way home. Put the truck away, had dessert otherwise usual evening routine.
11/06/23 – Monday – Up at the usual time. Kathy was getting ready to go out with the ladies from church to buy some things for the fall retreat this coming Saturday. I went to the shack and did some research. Kathy came home at lunch time and we had lunch. Kathy took off to do some shopping at Hobby Lobby and pick up Shelby to stay the night. I went to the shack and worked on my code. Kathy came home with Shelby and I spent some time with her. Had McDonalds takeout for dinner. Chased one of Dudley’s cows back over in the field. Usual evening routine.
11/07/23 – Tuesday – Up a little early this morning. Cleaned up and out to the kitchen for coffee. Kathy got up and made a big breakfast for Shelby and me. Kathy took Shelby and headed up to pick up the twins. I did my code practice. Did some chores around the house then down to Dairy Queen to meet Kathy and the grand kids for lunch. Took Chloe over to the farm to see the calf and pet and feed goodies to the horses. Took her home and dropped her off. Then over to Rural King for some fencing supplies. Stopped at the Blue Moon Salon and picked up Carter after he got his hair cut. He helped me mend some fences for the neighbor. Julie came and picked up the kids. Kathy and I had dinner then usual evening routine.
11/08/23 – Wednesday – Up a little late today. Spent the first part of the morning making arrangements for blood draw then a doctor’s appointment. Down and practiced code. Up for lunch. Then out to the Morton building with Kathy to clean things up a bit and put things away. In and down to play with my IC7300. Had dinner then usual evening routine.
11/09/23 – Thursday – Up early today. 6AM to be exact. Cleaned up and out to get my blood drawn. Kathy went into Louisville for her doctor’s appointment before I got home. I stopped at Daugherty’s to see if anyone wanted the old Chrysler Town and Country and one of the mechanics down there took advantage of my giving it away. Then home and had a snack then practiced code. Kathy stopped on her way home for dog goodies and groceries. I helped her unload when she got home and we put things away then lunch. After lunch we took the Chrysler down and dropped it off. Then over to Shelbyville. First stop was at the John Deere dealer for material to do the maintenance on the zero turn mower and the D170 lawn tractor. On into Shelbyville and stopped at Results Physiotherapy for Kathy to get started with physical therapy. Then over to Rural King to return the barbed wire I picked up earlier this week. Did a little shopping there. Back to Taylorsville and picked up some more items for maintenance at the auto parts store. Had dinner at the Chinese restaurant. Home, chores around the house and otherwise usual evening routine.
11/10/23 – Friday – Up at the usual time. Cleaned up and down to practice code. Up for an early lunch then down to the church to setup the audio/visual equipment for the ladies retreat tomorrow. Home and took a nap. Up and down to play radio. Kathy came home from setting up and we had dinner. Usual evening routine.
11/11/23 – Saturday – Up at the usual time. Kathy was already out for the ladies retreat at church today. I got cleaned up and did the usual Saturday morning chores. Down to play radio. My friend Nick called and wanted to come over for coffee. We practiced putting some connectors on coax. Got a text a little after noon that the ladies retreat was almost over. Nick took off, I got changed and headed to the church to dismantle the AV equipment and put it away. Home and had a late lunch. Kathy came home. We both took a nap. Up and out to Cracker Barrel for dinner then Walmart for some groceries. Home and usual evening routine.
Now the specifics:
Things started getting busy on Monday when Kathy went over and picked up Shelby to stay the night. She likes to stay. I’m not sure if she just likes the change in scenery or the big breakfast that grandma makes when she comes over. Anyway, they had no school Monday and Tuesday because of election day and using the schools as polling places.
Kathy went over and picked up the twins on Tuesday as Julie had planned for Kathy to take them all to have their hair done. The appointment was around 2PM so I met them at Dairy Queen and bought them all lunch. Then I took Chloe over to the farm. They have a blind calf that she wanted to see as well as the horses.

The pictures are in somewhat of a reverse order. One of the farm hands got milk so Chloe could feed the calf. After that the calf wouldn’t leave her alone. Then we went to see the horses and the mules. Patrick came out and gave Chloe treats to feed the animals. I think she was in heaven. Had a smile from ear to ear. Was very good watching it all.
So I took Chloe back to the house and they all went to get the hair done. I went over to Shelbyville and got supplies to fix some fencing. On the way back I stopped at the salon and picked up Carter after he had his hair done and he helped me fix the fence so the neighbor’s cows wouldn’t come see us anymore.
The ladies had their fall retreat this Saturday and the program was on a DVD. So Friday I went down when they were setting things up and put out the DVD player and projector so they could all watch it on the big screen. Then Saturday after the event I went down and packed it all up and put it away.
Wednesday I made some calls and contacts to get my blood work done and set up a doctor’s appointment for next Monday. Went up early Thursday and got the blood work done. Kathy had a doctor’s appointment in downtown.
She got home a little after I did and we took the old Chrysler down to Daugherty’s. I found one of their mechanics that could use it and I couldn’t afford to put anymore money in it. I’m surprised I didn’t cry. I’ve had the car a long time. But it’s going to a good home and to someone that really needed it.
While we were out we went over to Shelbyville. Stopped at the John Deere dealer and got material to do a tune up on Kathy’s zero turn mower and on the D170. Then into town and got her an appointment with Results Physiotherapy. Then to Rural King to return the barbed wire I bought and didn’t use. We were going to have dinner over there at Cracker Barrel but it was too early. So we came over to Taylorsville and picked up some more items at the auto store then went to the Chinese restaurant.
My friend Nick came over Saturday morning. He is getting ready to put up his HF antenna and wanted to borrow my crimp tools to put the connectors on. We did a connector while he was here so he knew how to do it. I had to kick him out to go down to the church.
I’ve been keeping up with my code practice but missed two Zoom classes this week. I put them in my calendar so I’ll be less apt to miss them in the future.
Well that’s about it. I can’t believe I did so much. Like I said, it was a busy week. But that’s it. Hope this finds you safe and healthy. Stay that way and I’ll blog at your again next week.
Want you to know I read all of the blogs … 🙂
