Didn’t get a lot done this week……………………………

As always, first the chronology:

12/10/23 – Sunday – Up at the usual time.  Cleaned up and out to church with Kathy.  Home and lunch.  Did the blog.  Kathy went grocery shopping.  I went to Gary’s for the afternoon get together.  Home, picked up Kathy and out to Cracker Barrel for dinner.  Home and usual evening routine.

12/11/23 –  Monday – Up a little late today.  Down and worked most of the day on my friend Craig’s project.  Had to order some capacitors that were defective in the kit.  Kathy spent the day going to PT and finishing up the Christmas Cookies.  Usual evening routine.

12/12/23 – Tuesday – Up at the usual time.  Down to the shack and did some more work on my friend Craig’s project.  Up for lunch.  Cleaned up and some chores.  Out a little before 5PM for the HAM club Christmas Dinner.  Home and usual evening routine.

12/13/23 – Wednesday – Up at the usual time.  No ambition today.  Went back to bed and slept till lunch time.  Up, lunch and down to the shack.  Did very little there.  Up and cleaned up.  Out for soup at 6PM and Advent service at 7PM.  Home and usual evening routine.

12/14/23 – Thursday – Up a little early today.  Out for a hair cut at 9:30.  Home and pulled the Vibe in the shop.  Located the ambient temperature sensor.  Spent a good hour trying to figure out how to disconnect it with no luck.  Back to the house and changed batteries in an airpod and my watch.  Had lunch.  Then downstairs to work on my TARPN node.  Kathy came home around 3PM.  Took a little nap then dinner.  Usual evening routine.

12/15/23 – Friday – Up at the usual time.  Kathy was out for an eye appointment.  I got my watch to set correctly and did some other chores in the kitchen.  Kathy came home just after noon with Jimmy John’s Subs.  Had lunch then to the shack to clean up a little.  Up for a nap, cleaned up and out to the Chinese Buffet with Mike, Julie, Chloe and Shelby.  Home and usual evening routine.

12/16/23 – Saturday – Up at the usual time.  Usual Saturday morning routine.  Down to the shack and finished the assembly of my friend Craig’s project.  Started testing and it has problems.  No mixer noise.  Up for lunch.  Helped Kathy with things and took a nap.  Dinner then usual evening routine.

Now the specifics:

Spent a lot of time this week working on my friend Craig’s project. He bought a bunch of cheap air band receivers for the Civil Air Patrol group he is mentoring. He wasn’t able to get one working so he gave me one to give it a try. I got it put together but the directions lost a lot in the translation from Chinese to English. I managed to get it together. Audio and squelch stages work OK but no mixer hiss. It’s a surface mount chip and they are easy to screw up so I have some things to look at. For now that goes on the back burner.

Might have caught something this week. Really had no energy or motivation on Wednesday. Slept most of the day. Was back to normal Thursday.

Tuesday evening we went to the HAM club Christmas Dinner. It was at the Channel Catfish House Restaurant. Not a fancy place but it’s one of the few places around that can handle 4 dozen people. Good people and good time.

Thursday Kathy did her VA volunteering. I went for a hair cut early. Then did some work on the Vibe. Picked up a new ambient temperature sensor for it. But, for the life of me I could not figure out how to get the connector off the old one to install the new one. I’ll give that another try this week.

Seemed like it was the week for batteries to go dead. I have Airpods on my keys and Ipad case so I can keep track of them. The pod in the Ipad case quit a couple weeks ago and the one on my key chain died this week. Also had to replace a battery in my talking watch. That’s a bear to reset after you change the battery.

Spent Saturday cleaning up in the shack and got all the Christmas presents wrapped. This must be a record. The week before Christmas (Not the night before) and I’m all ready. Will wonders never cease.

Gave the CW studies a break. I’ve been making the traffic net regularly just not attending any Zoom classes.
