Another busy week………………………………………………………….

As always, first the chronology:

3/17/24 – Sunday – Up at the usual time for Sunday.  Cleaned up and out to church with Kathy.  Stayed a little after service for Kathy to participate in choir practice.  Home and lunch.  Out to J-town for HAM testing at 2PM.  Home a little after 3PM.  Took a little nap.  Dressed up and out to the Rice residence to drop off the Molly Brown cake.  Then out to dinner with the Rice family to celebrate Julie and my birthday at Stoney River.  Back to the Rice house and had cake and presents.  Home and usual evening routine.

3/18/24 – Monday – Up late this morning.  Missed the net.  Got cleaned up and down to get the Vibe re-registered.  Over to Shelbyville and spent my birthday present from Todd at Harbor Freight.  Home and put the new sticker on the license plate for the Vibe.  Inside and lunch.  Down to the shack to work on a few things and have another cup of coffee.  Still tired from last night so went to bed and napped till dinner.  Had dinner then usual evening routine.

3/19/24 – Tuesday – Up at the usual time.  Made the “Over the Hill” net.  Didn’t sleep well last night so went back to bed.  Got up and Kathy wanted to take me out to Applebee’s for lunch.  So cleaned up and out to Applebee’s for lunch.  Home and down to the shack.  Kathy went for her nap.  Lynn called to wish me Happy Birthday then Todd called.  Answered some emails.  Watch a few videos then up for a late snack for dinner.  Otherwise, usual evening routine.

3/20/24 – Wednesday – Up a little early this morning.  Cleaned up and out to have my blood drawn at 8:30 (30 minute drive from the house).  They were very busy.  Didn’t get out of there till 9:30AM.  Home and put the truck away.  Inside, changed clothes and started the yard work.  Kathy was out shopping.  She came home and came out around 11:30 when I went inside for lunch.  Finished up around 2:30PM.  Inside and rest.  Shower and a nap.  Then down to the soup supper at church before service at 7PM.  Home and usual evening routine.

3/21/24 – Thursday – Up a little early today and cleaned up and dressed before breakfast.  Got on the “Over the Hill” net while eating breakfast.  Then out for my hair cut.  Kathy was off to the VA for her volunteer thing.  Home after the hair cut and finished up the laundry from yesterday.  Had lunch then downstairs and did some computer work.  Gather my things together to go over to our son-in-law’s place.  Made my Zoom class at 3PM.  When finished Kathy and I went up to Mike and Julie’s.  Still didn’t get the lights to work.  Had dinner up there.  Home and usual evening routine.

3/22/24 – Friday – Up at the usual time.  Cleaned up and out with Kathy for an appointment with the Pain Management and Spine center.  Got that done and got my prescription refilled.  Then to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch.  Home then down to the sheriff’s office after 1PM.  Home about the same time Kathy took off to get Shelby and take her to a doctor’s appointment.  I went to the shack and filled out some paperwork and returned some emails.  Then a Zoom class at 3PM.  Kathy came home and we had dinner.  Usual evening routine.

3/23/24 – Saturday – Up a little late today.  Did the Saturday morning chores.  Down to the shack and started emptying shelves.  Took them down and patched the holes.  Then up for lunch.  Back downstairs to put the shelves back up and sort through things to try and make space.  Took a break for dinner then back to finish up.  Otherwise, usual evening routine.

Now the specifics:

Tuesday was my birthday but the kids are so busy during the week that everyone decided to celebrate Julie’s birthday which was Monday and my birthday on Sunday. So we all went to Stoney River Restaurant. A very up scale place off of Brownsboro (Exclusive area) road. A great dinner and great service. However, I managed to eat too much and did not sleep well Sunday night. But it was worth it.

Got up late Monday. Missed the “Over the Hill” net. Went down to the County Clerks office to get the Vibe re-registered. Got that all done. Vehicle registration is all caught up now till December when the truck comes due. The rest of the day I slept. And of course that screwed me up for Tuesday night. Didn’t sleep well then either.

Got up early enough to make the “Over the Hill” net. Then back to bed. Got up and Kathy needed to take me out for my birthday. Since she mentioned Applebee’s at least 3 times when mentioning she wanted to take me out, I told her I’d like to go to Applebee’s. Well the food sucked. I got the Parmesan Steak and Shrimp. The steak was so tough I couldn’t chew it. The shrimp tasted old. But she took me out for my birthday. I guess that was the important thing.

Got a lot of calls and text messages. Thanks to everyone that took time out of their day to wish me a happy birthday.

Wednesday was yard work day. I had an appointment to get my blood drawn at 8:30 but started on the yard work as soon as I got back. Kathy was going out shopping for something at the grocery store. She managed to make it back to help. I think in the future I’ll try and schedule the yard work on days she is busy. Won’t say anymore about that.

This is what it looked like when we were done.

It was the last Lenten Service on Wednesday. This coming week is Holy Week and there will be 4 services. Needless to say we won’t make them all. But the soup was good before service.

Thursday morning I made the net then went down to get my hair cut. Came home and finished the Laundry from yesterday and cleaned up the kitchen. Had lunch then started gathering things to take over to my son-in-law’s to work on his electrical issues. I bought a cable tracer at Harbor Freight with the gift certificate I got from Todd on Monday. Kathy made some dinner to take along. I had a Zoom class at 3PM so we went up after that. Mike and I looked at his issues and still didn’t find the problem. I followed the wire to the ceiling and it disappeared. Need to start knocking holes in dry wall to find anything. I’m not going to do that. We went up and had dinner. It was just Mike, Kathy and me as Julie was running the kids to dance, art and tennis.

Friday I had an appointment at the Pain management and Spine center. Nothing out of the ordinary. Got my prescription refilled and an appointment to come back in July.

Then we went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. Wow, great meal. Service was fantastic and it wasn’t that expensive. We came home and after 1PM I went to the Sheriff’s office for some paperwork. Home and spent a couple hours working on that.

3PM on Friday I moved up to the intermediate 2 class. I fit right in. Had no problems so I’ll put that on my schedule for the future.

Saturday I spent the day working in the shack. My son-in-law got me an electronic microscope to work on small electronic projects. I didn’t have room for it on my bench so I cleared off the shelves beside the bench, took those down and put them up again. They were starting to come out of the wall so I figured I’d take care of that. Then I sorted out a bunch of stuff for Kathy to go to Good Will and filled a garbage bag of stuff to throw out. Put the rest back, re-organized the bench and put the microscope on it.

Here’s what it looks like now. All nice and clean with space to work.
