A good week………………………………………………………………………….

As always, first the chronology:

Home, picked up Kathy and over to Cattleman’s Steakhouse in Shelbyville. Home, changed clothes and took the gas cans to the gas station to fill them. Home and put things away. Otherwise, usual evening routine.

6/10/24 – Monday – Up at the usual time and made net. Kathy was already out to play uber to the granddaughter. Got dressed and out to start the yard work. Kathy came home around noon and we had lunch. Then we both went out and finished up around 3PM. Inside for a snack. A nap, cleaned up and did burgers on the grill for dinner. Usual evening routine.

6/11/24 – Tuesday – Up at the usual time and made net. Down to the shack for a LICW Zoom class. Changed and out to the shop to get the bike. Rode down and got gas. Then a short ride around the county to check for leaks and make sure everything works OK after the maintenance. In for lunch. Out to seed the bank beside the driveway with grass. Gonna try and keep the dirt from washing out onto the driveway. Inside and chatted with Todd. SO called for sizes. Downstairs for some computer work and radio till time for dinner. Had dinner then out to a HAM club meeting.

6/12/24 – Wednesday – Up at the usual time and made net. Shelby stayed over last night and wasn’t feeling well so I watched her most of the day. Had a chance to get my portable stuff out and start checking things out for field day next week. Julie came over to pick her up, we had dinner then usual evening routine.

6/13/24 – Thursday – Up at the usual time and made net. Kathy was already out for her volunteering at the VA. I went down and got my hair cut. Home, let the dogs out and changed clothes and out on the motorcycle. Stopped at Hooter’s for lunch. Home by 1PM. Did some computer work and spent time with the dogs. Then a nap. Kathy came home and we had dinner. Usual evening routine.

6/14/24 – Friday – Up at the usual time and made net. Kathy was out to take Chloe and Carter to the dermatologist. I got cleaned up and folded the clothes in the dryer. Got a call from Kathy that they were on their way. A real cluster but ended up with me picking up Carter at the hair place and going to Dairy Queen and placing orders for everyone but Shelby. Kathy was taking her to McDonald’s. They came to Dairy Queen and we ate lunch. Kathy took off with the girls to have their hair done and Carter and I went to Walmart in Shelbyville to do some shopping. Home and spent the rest of the afternoon playing Cribbage with Carter. Kathy came home with the girls and I left for J-town to do HAM testing. Came home and had dinner. Otherwise the usual evening routine.

6/15/24 – Saturday – Up at the usual time. Out to the shop and put the stuff I bought in the comfort kit and first aid kit. In the house and Kathy took off for some shopping. Spent most of the rest of the day checking out my stuff for next weekend. Had lunch. Kathy went outside to work. I finished up checking things out. Dinner and usual evening routine.

Now the specifics:

Started the week with yard work on Monday. Kathy had to go up and take Chloe to dance practice so she was gone the morning. I got started on things around 10AM. I was smart enough to get the gas Sunday evening. Kathy got home around lunch time so I took a break for lunch. Back out after lunch and finished things up by around 3PM. Not a bad job this week.

Tuesday after net I took the bike down and got gas. Went for a short ride around the county here. Parked it in a spot I could see if I had any leaks. Everything looked good so I have regained a high level of confidence in the motorcycle.

Tuesday afternoon we seeded the bank along the driveway. It is a place where it washes out all over the driveway. Kathy thinks this will stop it, I hope it will but I don’t have faith that it will. Anyway, about $20 in grass seed and another $30 in straw. Going to keep it well watered. We will see what happens.

Got a call late Tuesday afternoon from the S.O. wanting my sizes. They are ordering me uniforms. I guess I got the job. I’ll keep you posted.

While I was at my HAM club meeting Tuesday evening, Kathy went over and picked up Shelby. The twins are doing volunteer hours at the VA on Wednesday so that leaves Shelby alone. Not a good idea to let her at the house by herself. So, Kathy brought her over Tuesday evening as she likes to stay over at our place. Then Wednesday she woke up not feeling well so with Kathy having various errands during the day, I spent most of Wednesday watching Shelby.

Thursday I went for my haircut, came home, let the animals out, changed clothes and out on the motorcycle. Took a nice long ride and stopped at Hooter’s for lunch. Had the fish and chips. Very bad. Fish was deep fried and dripping grease. Had heart burn from that all through Friday. Started getting hot early so I was back at the house by 1PM. Very happy with the motorcycle performance. Spent the rest of the day napping and resting up.

Friday was a screwed up day. Kathy had all these plans that kept contradicting each other. Anyway, as it ended up, She went up to take Carter and Chloe to the dermatologist. Then they came over here and stopped at Dairy Queen and we all had lunch. I did some laundry duties in the mean time. Then Kathy took the girls to the hair salon to get their hair done and Carter and I went shopping. Then home and played Cribbage the rest of the afternoon. I had to go into J-town for HAM testing so Kathy took the kids back home.

Saturday morning I took the stuff I bought at Walmart over and replenished the comfort kit and the first aid kit in the motorcycle. So that’s all done for the summer. Ready for a long ride. Not sure to where but it’s ready.

Spent most of the rest of my spare time this week pulling out my portable radio stuff and making sure it was all ready for field day next weekend. Finished that up Saturday and got things back in their travel containers and ready to go.

Did get back to my Zoom classes at LICW. Did one on Tuesday morning. They are still harping about head copy and I’m not ready to do that yet. Just want to get my speed up. So I guess I’ll be doing that on my own.

Well that’s it for this week. As always, hope this finds everyone safe and healthy. Stay that way. Chat with you again next weekend.
