Another busy week but got some things accomplished………………………..

As always, first the chronology:

8/18/24 – Sunday – Up at the usual time. Cleaned up and out to church with Kathy. Home and lunch. Down to do the blog. Over to see Gary for the afternoon get together. Kathy went along to chat with Loretta. Stopped at Yoki buffet on the way home for dinner. Home and usual evening routine.

8/19/24 – Monday – Up at 7AM and off to work. Court started at 9:30AM and ran till 2PM. Came home, grab a sandwich and changed clothes. Then off for my doctor’s appointment. Stopped at the bank for some cash on the way home. Took Kathy out to Cracker Barrel for dinner. Then a stop at Country Mart for some sandwich meat. Got the gas cans filled up then home and put things away. Otherwise, usual evening routine.

8/20/24 – Tuesday – Up at 6AM and off to work. Court started at 8AM this morning. Was all over by 11AM. Home, dressed down and lunch. Then out to do the yard work. Finished up around 3PM. Inside and dressed down. Took a nap then a shower. Dinner and usual evening routine.

8/21/24 – Wednesday – Woke up around 7AM this morning, an hour before the alarm was set to go off. Had breakfast and made the “Over the Hill” net. Then cleaned up and out for my dentist appointment. A quick stop at Country Mart for something for Kathy to bake cookies with. Then into J-town and Kroger to pick up a couple prescriptions. Home and changed clothes. Had lunch then out to the Morton building to work on the flower stands for my grand daughters. Had to stop and run into Taylorsville and ACE Hardware for some blades for my jig saw. Finished up getting all the wood ready. Kathy came out and did some sanding. I started to put things together and stop rather quick. I need to take my other drill out so I don’t have to keep changing things in the chuck. In and cleaned up a little. Down to do some computer work. Kathy took a nap then we had dinner. Kathy was off to bible study. Usual evening routine for me.

8/22/24 – Thursday – Up at 6AM and off to work. Started at 7:30. Break for lunch from noon to 1PM then worked till 4PM. Home, got comfortable and took a nap till dinner time. Had dinner then usual evening routine.

8/23/24 – Friday – Up at 7:30AM and made the “Over the Hill” net. Then down to the shack and practiced some CW. Played radio the rest of the morning. Up for lunch. Back to the shack and did some research along with shopping for antennas and feedline for my TARPN setup. Dinner and usual evening routine.

8/24/24 – Saturday – Up at 8AM. Breakfast and out to the Morton building to work on the flower benches for the grand daughters. In for lunch. Kathy took off to spend time with Julie. I took a nap with the dogs then down to the shack for some computer work. Did some chores around the house. Kathy got home a little after 6PM. We had dinner then usual evening routine.

First I’d like to thank all those that reached out to me after last weeks blog to see how I was doing. I finally went to the doctor on Monday and he confirmed my suspicion. Although he had a better solution. He said he thought the dosage was too high so he gave me a prescription for 20mg instead of 30mg and told me to take one every other day. I may still feel some mild symptoms but they should go away in a week or so. I started taking the stuff again Wednesday and so far everything is good. I’m about ready to check in with him and see if I should start back to every day.

Tuesday we did the yard work. I don’t think it really needed done but some places it was getting thick. It was rather easy this week with a lot of dust. My eyes were definitely caked up after that.

Thursday was an interesting day. First I had an older gentleman that just wanted to chat. I was outside getting some fresh air when he strolled by. He talked for a good 1/2 hour. Mostly about war stuff. He had a Vietnam Veteran’s hat on. I’m going to guess he went through some rough times. He was a medic so those guys see the worst. Then he went inside to talk to the clerk about some court business and started his story all over. Unfortunately the clerk was busy and couldn’t listen like I did. Then I went to Dairy Queen for lunch. Ran into a guy that hangs around there a lot. He asked me join him which I did. I heard all about his medical issues for the last 20 years. I guess it was my day to just listen to people that needed to talk.

I got paid by the SO on Friday so I spent time researching antennas and feed line for my TARPN station. I got that all ordered and it should be here this week. Hopefully we will add a node from here and get everything up on UHF so I don’t get as much interference.

Worked on the flower stands for the Grand Daughters Wednesday and Saturday this week. Almost ready to start painting. That’s Kathy job. Want to get everything done except putting the top on so she can get to things more easily. Hopefully get that finished up this coming week.

Had an easy week at work. Only a half day Monday and Tuesday. And of course my regular full day Thursday. This coming week is going to be much busier. We have court every day but Thursday and of course that’s my day to work the door.
