Now the specifics:

If you didn’t read the comments on my last post you didn’t notice that our friend Lynn got in a fight with some poison oak. From the report it seems she spread it over a good part of her exposed body. The medical expert says it will take a least a week to get over the worst but can linger for up to 6 weeks. Kathy used to be bad with poison ivy. I remember burning a pile of brush and didn’t realize it had some poison ivy in it. Kathy walked through the smoke and got it all over. Then she took shots and she didn’t have problems after that. Anyway, hope you feel better soon Lynn and perhaps you should consider the shots.

I’ve been having a problem with my Allstar node. It’s the thing that I talk over the internet with for ham radio. It’s how I check into the net in Altoona in the morning. Anyway, it seems that when I reconfigured my TARPN node, the radios I’m using now causes interference to my Allstar node. So, I’ve been setting the squelch tighter a little bit at a time to get rid of the problem. The last adjustment was Saturday and I think I got it acting OK now.

I’ve been busy at work. Worked 22 hours a week for the last two weeks. I won’t do that this coming week as we have off for Veteran’s day and I will be doing the stress test on Tuesday morning. But I’ll be back on the job Wednesday morning which will be a long day.

Kathy and I spent the day yesterday bringing winter clothes down from the storage area over the garage and taking summer clothes back up. I think I have more room in my closet now. I think I need to go through a lot of my summer things and get rid of some stuff. I don’t think I’ll ever wear my polo shirts with AT&T on them anymore.

Legs have been giving me a little more trouble then usual so I got an appointment with my good friend at the pain and spine management place. She’s good with knowing what is best to try. I trust her judgement. Hopefully she’ll just tell me I need to go back to Physical Therapy or perhaps another ablation. I really don’t care what as long as it fixes things. However, she is a very busy lady and I can’t get into see her till the first Thursday in December.

Otherwise, the ladies are doing the planning for Thanksgiving. Looks like Kathy is going to be cooking up a storm then we haul all the shit up to the Rice residence. Not sure when we will eat but they are inviting all kind of strange people. I’ll have more on that after Thanksgiving.

Well that’s it for this week. As always, hope this finds you all safe and healthy. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again next week.

  1. I guess y’all are getting ready for winter. I don’t really have that issue here in Texas. Heck, it has been in the mid 80s…still waiting for cooler weather. I’m watching the Caribbean again this week to see if a storm develops and ends up in the Gulf like they are saying will happen. If it isn’t a storm here, I’m watching for effects in Florida. Hurricane season just doesn’t want to go away this year! Been real dry here lately…sure could use rain!

The poison oak fiasco continues. Got the rash, had the blistering, and now it is starting to dry up. Still have considerable itching and scatching. My skin feels like sandpaper. Lotions and cool water compresses feel the best. Doing lots of laundry since I don’t dare to use towels, clothing etc more than once.

Maybe your leg problem is because you are on your feet a lot more for your work and you tend to stand in one spot? Do you wear any kind of support in your shoes? Just a thought.

Will wait to hear about your stress test. Hope all turns out well.

Until next week…stay safe and healthy.
