Welcome to 2025 and the snow apocalypse………………………………………….

As always, first the chronology:

12/29/24 – Sunday – Up at 9:30AM. Late night last night. Blew off church. Had breakfast and got cleaned up. Some chores and lunch. Down to do the blog. Forgot to publish it. Then over to Gary’s for the afternoon get together. Home and picked up Kathy. Back to J-town and Craft Pizza for dinner. Home and usual evening routine.

12/30/24 – Monday – Up at 8AM. Breakfast and cleaned up. Waited for Nick to arrive. Worked on his HamClock and took care of his issues. He went home and we had lunch. Did some chores then Kathy took off shopping and I went for a nap. Kathy got home and we had dinner. Noticed I forgot to publish the blog and did that. Otherwise usual evening routine.

12/31/24 – Tuesday – Up around 9AM. Did some chores around the house. Lunch and a nap. Then cleaned up and out to Mike and Julie’s for dinner. Kathy stay to play cards but I came home after dinner. Took care of the dogs. Made the CW net for the first in a long time. Then to bed. Kathy came home and put drops in my ears. Then sleep.

01/01/25 – Wednesday – Up around 9AM. Had breakfast and started the first of the month routine. Stopped for lunch then out to put the battery tender on the golf cart. Drove the Vibe over to the Morton building as it hasn’t been run lately. Cut some wood for Gary and put the two mowers on battery tenders. Everything greened up nice. Inside for a nap. Dinner and usual evening routine.

01/02/25 – Thursday – Up at 6AM and off to work. Worked the door to the clerks office from 7:30AM to 4PM with an hour off for lunch. Home and a nap. Had dinner and tried to stay awake for net but didn’t make it. Was in bed by 7:30PM.

01/03/25 – Friday – Up at 6AM and off to work. Opened the court room at 8AM. District court was over by 10:30 and they had a trial set for 11AM but there was enough manpower there to handle that. So I took off. Went to the office and did some paper work. Home and dressed down. Kathy was still out from taking Rusty to the groomers. She came home and we had lunch. Did some chores then to bed for a nap. Slept from around 1PM to 3PM. Up and some chores around the house. Then dressed and out to the Lighthouse Diner for dinner. Home and usual evening routine.

01/04/24 – Saturday – Up around 8:30AM. Breakfast and usual Saturday morning chores. Had lunch then out to the Morton building to put some weight in the back of the truck. Got 4 60lb bags of Sakrete and a 40lb bag of fertilizer in the bed. Then inside and helped Kathy with putting away Christmas decorations. Took the TV from downstairs and put upstairs. Not sure what we will do with the old TV. Had dinner and usual evening routine.

Now the specifics:

It’s a new year folks. Put the past behind and look forward to better things to come.

The big talk around here is the snow apocalypse that is suppose to hit the central part of the US this weekend. Store shelves are empty, people are posting all kind of ridiculous stuff on social media about how to prepare. It is a zoo. Very funny.

The down side of things is that I have a doctor’s appointment at 7:45 Monday morning. Just hope it is all over and the roads are clear by then.

Had a rather easy week at work. Again the courts were closed Tuesday and Wednesday and family court doesn’t start again till the 13th. So I worked my usual 7:30AM to 4PM on Thursday and went in Friday morning for district court. It was a light docket so we were done by a little after 10:30. I had to go to the office and pick up a pay stub and do my time so I finished up around 11AM.

This coming week we will be getting back to normal. Unless things change I’ll be working most of the day Wednesday, then my usual on Thursday and in Friday till we are done.

I’ve gotten back to my CW skills. I’ve been routinely practicing at the 4PM or 7PM time that W1AW is broadcasting code. I have also been back to checking in to the CW net at 9PM in the evening. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep up with that.

Only other notable thing was that I forgot to publish the blog last Sunday. I didn’t realize it until sometime Monday. Oh well, no one missed it.

On the social front, Tuesday evening we went over to Mike and Julie’s for dinner. Kathy stayed till about 10PM to play cards. We took two vehicles and I came back right after we ate. Made the CW net then went to bed.
