A very busy week………………………………………………
As always, first the chronology:
02/16/25 – Sunday – Up around 8AM. Got snow after all the rain yesterday and last night. Kathy and I went to church but roads where slushy and the temperature was starting to drop. So we decided to got for lunch at Cattleman’s Steakhouse rather than go back out later. Also called Gary and told him I wouldn’t be over. Got home after eating and let the truck outside up at the house. In and did the blog. Then a nap till dinner. Usual evening routine.
02/17/25 – Monday – Up at 8AM. started getting ready for our trip up to Cinncinati. Replaced a bad light switch on Kathy’s closet light. Kathy took the dogs to the kennel. I got things ready in the truck. started off around noon. Stopped at Costco for a cake Kathy ordered then to Arby’s for a light lunch. Drove to R&L Electronics to pick up a used radio I bought last week. Then to the Microtel to wait for Judy and Lee. Met up with them and to Perkins for dinner. Back to the motel and bed.
02/18/25 – Tuesday – Up around 8:30AM. Cleaned up and packed for the trip home. Down to the lobby to see about breakfast. Ran into Judy and Lee. Ate breakfast then took our stuff out to the truck and checked out. Hung out in Judy and Lee’s room till it was time for lunch. Then over to the Outback Steakhouse and got things settled. Terry and Mary came in and I think Mary was very surprised. We had a good time visiting with everyone and started back around 3PM. Got home a little after 4PM. I unloaded things and went to Country Mart for some lunch meat. Kathy went to retrieve the dogs. Got home and unpacked. Kathy came home and we had a light dinner. Then the usual evening routine.
02/19/25 – Wednesday – Up around 8:30AM. Down and checked out the new radio. Put it in place and programed the memories. Up for lunch. Then a nap with Kathy. Down and finished up some things on the HAM desk. Dinner and usual evening routine.
02/20/25 – Thursday – Up at 5:30AM. Into work and worked the door to the Circuit Court Clerks office from 7:30AM to 4PM with an hour off for lunch. Home and changed clothes. Took Kathy to Hometown Pizza for dinner. Back home, some chores and bed.
02/21/25 – Friday – Up at 6:30AM. Into work and opened the court room at 8:30. Short docket today so court didn’t start till 9AM and we were finished by 11:30AM. Home and had some lunch then to bed for a nap. Slept till time to get up, clean up and out for our anniversary dinner at Stoney River. Had reservations for 6:45 but got there early for Carter. Finished up and got home by 9PM. Fed the dogs and to bed.
02/22/25 – Saturday – Up around 8:30AM. Felt like shit. Went back to bed and slept till lunch time. Up and had lunch. Took a COVID and flu test. All was negative but the instructions said to repeat the test in 24 hours even if things came up negative. Went back to bed and slept till dinner time. Had dinner, did some chores and back to bed.
Now the specifics:
I guess the most important thing this week was our anniversary. 55 years. I know because Kathy told me. Last year I had made plans to go into Louisville to Jeff Ruby’s and we invited Julie and Mike. But Mike’s mother was having issues so they couldn’t make it. So this year I asked Kathy were she wanted to go and she suggested Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill. That’s a rather fancy place and not one we usually go to so I made reservations. Of course as luck would have it, Carter’s tennis team decided to have practice Friday evening so we tried to get in early but Carter and Mike had to leave early. But it was OK, we all got to eat together.

Since I usually get Kathy flowers for any special occasion, I guess she got shamed into doing something for me so she got me this:

All my favorite snacks in a nice arrangement. So that’s it for this year.
Tuesday was our sister-in-law’s 80th birthday. So my other sister-in-law made arrangements for us to meet in Cincinnati and be at a restaurant that Terry was going to take his wife. Yea, I know that’s all confusing. It would be less of a problem if my cousin and I had not married sisters. Anyway, it was a cluster “you know what”. We were suppose to be at the Texas Roadhouse a little before 12 and get things all arranged then Terry was going to be bringing is wife Mary (the 80 year old) in for lunch. As we were hanging out in Judy and Lee’s hotel room it occurred to me that the Texas Roadhouse here in Louisville was only open for lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So I casually asked if anyone had checked to see what time they opened. Well, of course not. So we called and sure enough they didn’t open till 3PM. So, we changed some plans and ended up at the Outback Steakhouse which was less then a mile away. Note to self, don’t let the Albright family do any planning.
Work was easy this week. I did the usual day on the door Thursday and we had a half day Friday. But trial week is over so next week we will be busier. Monday is Family court and a suppression hearing in the afternoon. Tuesday is the usual probate and juvenile court. I think we have Wednesday off then Thursday I’ll be on door and Friday we will be back to the usual sized docket for district court.
Well that’s about all the excitement from here for this week. I’ll tell you about the radio I bought at R&L Electronics next week. As always, hope this finds you safe and healthy. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again next week.
Happy Anniversary…a little late! 55 years…WOW!
Not a very exciting week here… grocery shopping, bought a new mattress for here in Florida, went furniture shopping with my brother-in-law (Earl), which resulted in s new couch and recliner. Worked on income taxes for Earl and me. Filed Earl’s, but have to wait until some forms are finalized by IRS to report casualty losses from Hurricane Beryl.
That’s it for this exciting week!
