Week Ending 6/7/25

Welcome to June…………………………………………………..

As always, first the chronology:

6/1/25 – Sunday – Up at 7AM and into Louisville at 8:30AM. Got inside the Brown Theater around 9:15 to see Chloe’s Ballet Recital. Stopped at the Yoki Buffet on the way home with Kathy, Julie, Chloe and Shelby for lunch. Then home. Kathy changed and was off grocery shopping and I took a nap. Up around 4PM and did the blog. Dinner and usual evening routine.

6/2/25 – Monday – Up around 8AM. Kathy was off to be with the grand kids while Julie had her hip surgery. I went over to Shelbyville with the trailer and retrieve the D-170 from the John Deere dealer. Got it home, unloaded it and organized things in the Morton building so it wasn’t in the way till I figure out what I want to do with it. Had lunch then did downstairs to do some computer work. Kathy came home and we had dinner. Usual evening routine.

6/3/25 – Tuesday – Up around 8AM. Kathy was over to help with the grand kids again today. I did some work on the computer. The new lawn tractor was delivered around 9:30AM. I finished up on the computer and started mowing around 10AM. Kathy was home around lunch time so we ate. Then we both went out to work on the yard. I put some cream on my knees that I got for pain to try it out. It burned like hell but I didn’t have any knee pain. I’ll use that next week. We finished up the yard work around 5PM. We cleaned up and had dinner. Usual evening routine.

6/4/25 – Wednesday – Up at 6AM and into work. Manned the handicap entrance to the main court house from 8AM to 2:30PM. No drug court today. Made a stop at ACE hardware on the way home to get some more house keys made since I broke one off in the lock this week. Kathy was sleeping when I got home so I tried to be quiet, changed clothes and checked the new keys on some of the more difficult locks. Then some computer work till she got up. Had dinner then usual evening routine.

6/5/25 – Thursday – Up at 6AM again and worked the door to the circuit court clerks office. One of my more unusual days. Worked from 7:30 to 4PM with an hour off for lunch. Home, some chores, dinner and usual evening routine.

6/6/25 – Friday – Up at 7:30AM. Cleaned up and down for hair cut. Then into the office to give my boss some of the cream I tested Tuesday. Her husband had knee pain. Home and picked up Kathy. Over to Shelbyville and picked up some things at Harbor Freight. Stopped at the Marimba Mexican restaurant for lunch. They have a buffet on Friday and Sunday that Kathy like. Then to Walmart for some shopping. Home and a nap. Up and did some more packing for school. A light snack for dinner then usual evening routine.

6/7/25 – Saturday – Up late today around 9AM. Usual Saturday morning chores. Spent the rest of the day finishing my packing and getting ahead of things for Kathy. Lunch and dinner at home and usual evening routine.

Now the specifics:

The week started with us going into Louisville to the Brown Theater to see Chloe’s Ballet Recital. There was apparently some rather large graduation taking place in the afternoon so they scheduled the Ballet in the morning. It was good as always. Afterward Mike had to take Carter to play tennis. Julie and the girls went to the Yoki Chinese buffet with Kathy and I for lunch.

Monday was Julie’s hip surgery. Everything went well and they claim they fixed the problem she has been having. But she will be incapacitated for a few weeks. Kathy went over several days this week to take care of the grand kids and get them to various functions. Julie looked good by Thursday when Kathy stopped in after her volunteer work at the VA. But I think it was very hard on Kathy getting up early so many days to get up to Mike and Julie’s to help out with things. By the time I got home from work Wednesday she was sacked out. But Julie will be doing some work from home and the twins have their learners permit so they can drive Julie around. All should be better from here on out.

Got my D-170 back from the John Deere dealer Monday. Took a good look at it and it’s the oil sump gasket that is leaking. That’s probably a result of bad rings. I need to talk to a few people before I decide what I want to do with it. A new engine is a thousand dollars so that isn’t happening. If the people I talk to think I can put new pistons and rings in it for half that I might try it. I’ll keep you posted.

Tuesday I got my new S-180 garden tractor. Started mowing with it shortly after it arrived. Had some fun getting used to the pedal arrangement. A little different than the D-170. But it cuts much nicer.

I worked most of the day Wednesday and all day Thursday this week. Had more issues and trouble Thursday than I’ve had in the last 6 months. Just people with weird problems and getting a little hyper about things. Hope it calms down for them next week.

Well I go to Richmond, KY again this weekend. Failure this time around is not an option. If I make it through Thursday successfully, I will be down there for two weeks. I’ll let you know my progress next week which will be a very short blog.

Well that’s about it for this week. As always, hope this finds everyone safe and healthy. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you next weekend.
