Now the specifics:
I have never in my life seen anyone so disorganized as my wife when it comes to packing. But I respect her space and just let her go. When she tells me she needs something I take care of it. Of course Friday morning, the day of departure, she was checking SD cards for her camera. Why not wait till the last minute. But she got off on Friday and made it to Germany with no trouble. Had a few cell phone issues I had to correct on the fly for her but otherwise no problems.
Got a call from my friend Stanley McCaully this week. He will be coming through this area sometime around the middle of the week. I banged out Thursday so I can spend some time with him. He is suppose to show up here sometime Wednesday late afternoon. He will miss Kathy but that’s OK.
A lot of deaths lately. First was the Commonwealth Attorney’s mother. I will go to that viewing on Wednesday. And when I was at the HAM club meeting my friend Dave comment that his mother-in-law was still hanging on. I got a call Wednesday morning and he told me she died. So that viewing will be Monday and I’ll go show my respects there as well.
So here’s the joke for the week. Kathy noticed that a $75 gift card we got almost 5 years ago for our wedding anniversary was going to expire the end of this month. So, we made this great plan to go to Olive Garden and have a nice meal, and while there, order some extra stuff that I could bring home and have while Kathy is traveling. Sounds like a good plan. Of course we were not too careful about watching how much we ordered. The final bill was a little over $140. So, we did get to use up the gift card but ended up putting almost as much on our own tab. Oh well, I’ll eat good next week.
I haven’t heard anything new about the grand kids and the medical issues. They are in Germany as well so there must not be anything critical. That’s all I know about that.
As always, hope this finds you safe and well. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again next week.
Nothing exciting here either.
I started a pounding headache last night and all day today – sinus related. It is my right sinus where I had the surgery. If this is still bothering me in the morning, I will be calling the ENT. I have had nothing but trouble since I had that surgery.
Still really hot and humid here during the day. I don’t think it will ever cool down. Got my outside work done this week early in the morning before it really heats up.
Like I noted…nothing exciting here. Stay safe and healthy. Have fun playing bachelor and dog sitting!
