And now the specifics:
Rather difficult this week as so much stuff is intertwined with other things. So let me try and make sense of things.
As you know, last week I was at Shelby’s choir concert on Friday evening. Around lots of people. Then Saturday into Louisville and watched the “Nutcracker in a Nutshell” at the Palace theater. Again, around lots of people. So Monday I was hanging out in my usual spot in my 10′ by 12′ little hole where inmates come into court, certain cabinet folks that are not well like (detention officers, etc.) and handicapped people. Around 10AM a co-worker Michael came down and asked if I needed a break as he was tired of being upstairs where the court room is. So I said of course and went upstairs. Lots of people hanging out in the hallway as it was family court and a lot of those cases are private. I very quickly started to feel my eyes start to water, nose was running and my throat got scratchy. It felt like I had fallen into a den of cats. So I assumed someone in the hallway had cat fur all over them so I went back downstairs to hang out with Michael. I got home and started the Coriciden HPB and some Robetussin cough medicine. Things seemed to hang on so Saturday I checked on getting an appointment with my PCP but the earliest I could get in was next Thursday. So I went to the local urgent care facility and told them my woes and that it often settled in my chest and my PCP usually prescribed a Z-pak. The nurse practioner must have thought I knew what I was talking about so she sent in a prescription for the Z-pad and some sort of cough suppressant that comes in a pill. They are not ready yet but expect to pick them up sometime Sunday.
So, since I was running all around last weekend I decided to not go over to Gary’s just in case I had picked something up and of course this weekend was a no brainer.
The weather was interesting this week. We were going to have a group get together on Thursday evening but the weather forecast called for a couple inches of snow. Well everyone got scared and cancelled out so we didn’t have the get together. Since Kathy hadn’t planned anything we decided to go to Hometown Pizza in Taylorsville. Got in town, ate and did some shopping at Country Mart and got home before a bit of snow arrived.
It did snow a couple inches over night. School was closed, things were canceled or delayed except for the court system. It was not a problem on my part. I rather enjoy doing court as there are those that you baby sit and those that really need support so I do what I can. It’s all a good feeling.
We had the HAM club dinner Tuesday night at the Cracker Barrel. That’s about the only place in Shelbyville that has room for all of us. I think about 30 people showed up and we had a good time.
I’m still on for this coming Wednesday to see what they are going to do with my leg. I’ll update you on that next week.
As always, hope this finds you safe and healthy.. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again next week.
