Now the specifics:
To start the week off, my Apple watch was not holding a charge. I got online and looked around and it seems the only place to get a battery replaced is at Apple. So, I decided to lower myself and go to the Genius bar at Apple. Got a very young girl, could have passed for my grand daughter, that was good looking and also very fashionable. I explained all the stuff and what was happening and she acknowledged what I told her and very quickly got a charger and cord out of a drawer and put the watch on charge. Before I had a chance to tell her that I already tried that she was off with a comment that she would be back in a couple minutes. A couple minutes passed and she came back and turned my watch on and it worked. Needless to say I was a little embarrassed. She then explained that it was necessary with these new induction charging system to have the higher wattage chargers to keep the voltage up so that the watch will charger properly. It all made sense and when I got home i double checked things and she was spot on. Talk about being knocked down a couple pegs. But I guess those folks in the Genius Bar really do know their shit.
Well Wednesday was the day for my Epidural shots. I must admit I was nervous. But I toughed it out before so I figured I could do it again. When asked about conscious sedation I declined because of my problem with breathing and with my head down in a cushion I didn’t want to stop breathing and have them have to do all sorts of things to bag me like they did during my cardio-version. So they got me all set up. They were injecting in two places so I had a total of four shots. The first two in each spot was a local numbing injection. Then came the two injections with the stuff that decreases the swelling and allows the nerves to slide into and out of the spinal column. Well, the first shots weren’t to bad. Then the second ones. That is the worst pain I’ve felt in a long time. Much worse then the debilitating pain that I had before. As I started to get some relief I thought to my self that it was pretty bad but it was good cause I knew they hit the right place in my spine. It took about an hour for me to get full feeling back in my lower left leg. But once that was gone, it was like magic. I was half way through the day on Thursday before I realized that I was able to get up out off the chair and walk normally. So, in the end, it all worked out very well.
Friday afternoon I went to Results Physiotherapy for my PT evaluation. It was good to see Maeve and Miles. They are the ones that got me through my training course for my security job. Maeve did the evaluation and said she understood what was wrong and thought she could accomplish my objectives. So we have a fix and a plan. Things are looking good.
So that’s the excitement for this week. As always, hope this finds you safe and healthy. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again next week.
