Week Ending 6/28/26

A very long week for me……………………………………………………..

As always, first the chronology:

2/22/26 – Sunday – Up around 8AM, cleaned up and off to church. Home and lunch. A short nap and over to see Gary. Stopped on the way home at Arby’s for dinner. Home, took care of dogs and to bed.

2/23/26 – Monday – Up at 6AM and off to work. Had family court from 8AM to noon. Stopped at Country Mart on the way home for some groceries. Home and lunch. Tried to get some work done but the dogs kept pestering me so I gave up after a couple hours and just spent time with them. Had dinner then bedded the dogs down for the night and went to bed.

2/24/26 – Tuesday – Was up at 8AM. Had breakfast, cleaned up and out for a hair cut. Then over to Shelbyville for PT. Home, had lunch. Tried again to work on some things to no avail. Had dinner, tended the dogs and to bed.

Now the particulars:

If you didn’t get the information from the chronology, I got absolutely nothing done this week that I wanted to do. I thought this would be a perfect time to get some projects worked on and some radio fun. Needless to say, neither happened. I’m not sure if it was me spoiling the dogs or the fact I just wasn’t used to dealing with them. But they are very demanding. I tried the project and had a tray of parts in my hand when Rusty’s snout came out of nowhere and hit my arm and parts went everywhere. So, after two tries I gave up on that.

Did not get a chance to talk to Kathy much. I guess she was as overwhelmed with things a Judy was. My cousin/brother-in-law is not doing well at all. Kathy thinks he may have had a couple mini strokes since they brought him home. He was one to do everything around the place. Never believed in debit or credit cards. So no receipts. This is a problem when you are looking to get benefits you deserve from the DOD. It was obvious that my sister-in-law could not take care of him herself as they are both in their mid 80s. But she, as most partners would do, did not want him in a care facility but wanted him at home. Hopefully between Kathy and her daughter they convinced her that was not a good idea. Of course Julie has been voicing her opinions which were not well received. But Kathy feels she has things stabilized and is planning on coming back home on Monday next week. I think she needs to get out of there and let things be. Otherwise she is going to feel responsible for what ever happens.

On a more personal note, I got my work schedule for the next month. Got my PT appointments scheduled and this coming Wednesday I’m going for a back brace. I’m not sure I’m going to be very compliant with using it but they want me to try. The only thing I haven’t gotten scheduled is my knee injection. This time it will be done at the pain management place and they will use a gel rather then the steroid.

Well sorry this wasn’t a more positive post but it is what it is. As always, hope this finds you safe and healthy. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again next week.
