A rather busy week……………………………………………………………..
As always, first the chronology:
3/29/26 – Sunday – Up at 8AM and off to church with Kathy. Home and lunch. Over to Gary’s for the afternoon get together. Home, picked up Kathy and went to Bob Evans for dinner. Home and usual evening routine.
3/30/26 – Monday – Up at 6AM and into work for a hearing. Hearing lasted from 9AM to 9:30. Spent most to the rest of the day gathering paperwork for taxes.
3/31/26 – Tuesday – Up at 8AM. Over to Shelbyville for PT. Home, had lunch, changed clothes and into work for the 1 to 4 shift on the door. Home, dinner and usual evening routine.
4/1/26 – Wednesday – Up at 9AM and made phone calls. That was most of the day. Didn’t go out of the house. Lunch and dinner. Usual evening routine.
4/2/26 – Thursday – Up at 6AM and worked the door to the clerk office from 7:30AM to 4PM. Home, dinner and usual evening routine.
4/3/26 – Friday – Up at 8AM. Cleaned up and out for the second shot in my leg. Over to Mission Barbeque for lunch, to the fixit shop for Kathy to get some jewelry fixed and to the post office in Middletown to mail some letters. Home, dinner and usual evening routine.
4/4/26 – Saturday – Finished up putting all the tax information together and ready to take to accountant Monday. Nothing else exciting.
Now the particulars:
The big accomplishment for the week was getting all the paperwork together for the accountant to do my taxes. I had things started back in February with the expectations of getting it into the accountant by March 1st so he would process it without filing an extension. But, with all the unexpected things that came up, that didn’t happen. So, I spent most of this week getting all the paperwork together and melding it with Kathy’s stuff. The woman she is dealing with at the bank is a total idiot and really doesn’t know what she is doing. But if we get audited that will just be more money for us because I will sue the shit out of her. But can’t explain that to Kathy so it will be what it is.
Sunday night Kathy and I went up to Bob Evans in Middletown for dinner. Low and behold my lawyer friend from Taylorsville showed up with his wife. I think he finally decided to retire but I saw him in court Wednesday. I think he likes it too much.
Monday we had a hearing that was scheduled all day but one of the litigates requested a continuance so it only took an hour. That was nice as I spent the rest of the day on taxes.
Tuesday I had PT in the morning then worked the door to the clerks office from 1 to 4 in the afternoon due to a scheduling error.
Wednesday morning I made a bunch of phone calls to schedule things for maintenance. Then continued formalizing the paperwork for the accountant.
Thursday was my usual day on the door and worked from 7:30AM to 4PM.
Friday I had to go into St. Matthews for the second shot in my knee. Kathy rode along and after I got my shot we went to the jewelry fixit shop in the mall. We thought they would be done with it later that day so we went over to Mission Barbeque for lunch. We check on the jewelry but they didn’t have the parts necessary to do it all so we found a post office for Kathy to mail some letters then headed home..
Saturday I finalized the cover sheet for the taxes and put it in the envelope to take to the accountant on Monday.
As always, hope this finds you safe and healthy. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you next week.
NOTE 4/11/26: Well thanks to everyone that checked in on me to see if I died this week since this didn’t get posted. I logged on tonight (Saturday, 4/11/26) to find it still in the edit queue. Actually not one person called to check on me. I guess I gotta find some better friends.
