Another busy week……………………..

As always, first the chronology:

10/15/23 – Sunday – Up early this morning.  Stan was leaving and wanted to get an early start.  He was off so I went back to bed for an hour.  Up, cleaned up and out to church with Kathy.  Home, lunch and down to do the blog.  Over to Gary’s for the afternoon get together.  Home and put the truck away.  Inside and had dinner.  Usual evening routine.

10/16/23 – Monday – Up a little late this morning.  Had breakfast and down to practice code.  Upstairs and some chores then lunch.  Out to the Morton building to finish putting away pool stuff for the year.  Took a broken piece off the filter canister that I need to replace.  Ran the portable generator.  Inside and did some research on the power control module for the motorcycle.  Dinner and usual evening routine.

10/17/23 – Tuesday – Up at the usual time.  Kathy was already out to take Chloe to the Orthodontist.  Had breakfast, cleaned up and some chores.  Kathy came home and lunch.  Down to practice code.  Then out back to see why one of the outside lights wasn’t working.  Nailed it down to a control issue.  Inside and did some research.  Ordered replacements online.  Nap time.  Didn’t feel real good.  Dinner and usual evening routine.

10/18/23 – Wednesday – Up at the usual time.  Didn’t sleep for shit last night.  Dogs had issues for some reason.  Down to practice code.  Did some TARPN updates.  Up for lunch.  Outside with Kathy after lunch to put up Halloween lights on the front porch.  Downstairs for my Zoom class.  Up for dinner.  Usual evening routine.

10/19/23 – Thursday – Up at the usual time.  Kathy was already out to get her hair done.  I went down and got mine cut while she was sitting with the color on her.  Home and practiced code.  Kathy came home and we had lunch.  New light sensors came in the mail for the lights out back.  Configured and installed them.  Played some more with the computer.  Out for dinner at Logan’s Roadhouse.  Home and usual evening routine.

10/20/23 – Friday – Up at the usual time.  Kathy was already off to Julie’s to color her hair and help get the grand kids packed for tomorrow.  I practiced some code and shopped for new business cards.  Up and had lunch.  Let the dogs out.  Back downstairs and did firmware updates on 3 NinoTNCs.  Did some computer work.  Attended a Zoom class at 4PM.  At 5PM, Kathy and I went to Taylorsville to have Chinese for dinner.  Home and continued helping Kathy get ready for tomorrow.  Otherwise, usual evening routine.

10/21/23 – Saturday – Went to bed early last night as Kathy was getting up early this morning to leave for vacation.  Didn’t get much sleep as the dogs seemed to sense she was going away and raised hell.  Up around 1:30AM and got her off to the airport in the Vibe.  Back to bed and slept till around 9:30.  Up, tended the dogs and cleaned up the kitchen.  Did my usual Saturday morning chores.  Down and practiced code for awhile then up for a late lunch.  Took the dogs to bed for a nap.  Up and did some more chores around the house.  Checked the radio.  Then dinner and usual evening routine.

Now the specifics:

It was great seeing Stan for a few days. We haven’t seen him for two years. Last year when he came through we were in Assateaque visiting with our friends Jim and Joyce. He wasn’t moving as well as he has been but we are all getting older. He departed our place early Sunday morning. Then he was making a stop in Georgia then down to northern Florida to visit in-laws then on to Florida City. He was there for his pool therapy Friday morning. So all is good on the Stan front.

If you read the comment last week you might have noticed that Lynn confirmed things are good in Texas. She is in the process of getting rid of some things she no longer wants. Rumor has it she also inherited a job from a friend in Texas and is getting rid of some things for him as well. So, if you see her posting a lot of stuff for sale, don’t get concerned as I did.

My friend Jim is doing well. He’s off all the antibiotics and they are just watching him with blood tests periodically. They took the opportunity to got to Assateaque for a week or so and of course since Jim was doing so well, his wife Joyce had a fall. But that was all good. However, when they got home the doctors said she most likely had a mini-stroke. But all seems well now. They just can’t win for losing.

My friend Gary surprised us this week and got on the radio. It was nice hearing him. But that might be a two edged sword. He may expect us to be on every night again like before he fell and broke his leg. Mike and I had only been getting on once a week on Wednesday evening. We will find out more this weekend when I go visit him.

Kathy was off on her trip to Punta Cana early Saturday morning. They were suppose to fly to Dulles airport from Louisville then fly to Punta Cana. Well, the plane out of Louisville was late and they missed their connection. So, they spent Saturday night in a hotel in Virginia. They were suppose to meet up with a friend of Todd’s in Washington and all fly together from there. Not sure how all that played out. But I can be sure I’ll hear all about it when she gets back.

Got the Halloween lights out on the front porch on Wednesday. As if Kathy didn’t have enough other things to deal with this week.

I noticed that my business cards had my old domain name on so I did some shopping this week and order some new ones. Also included my HAM radio stuff. I’ll post a picture of them here when I get them.

I have been continuing with the code classes. Seem to be doing a little better this week. Made a Zoom class Wednesday and another Friday. I had a second class Friday I wanted to attend but Kathy was home and ready to go eat so I blew that one off. I’ll catch that again next week.
