A good but busy week………………………………………………………………..

As always, first the chronology:

7/14/24 – Sunday – Up at 8AM, cleaned up and out to church with Kathy. Home and lunch. Downstairs to get ready for some guys to come over and learn about Winlink. They got here around 2PM and stayed till after 5PM. Kathy and I went to Logan’s Roadhouse for dinner. Home, cleaned things up downstairs, did some computer work and bed.

7/15/24 – Monday – Up at 7AM. Cleaned up and out with Kathy to a doctor’s appointment in Middletown. After that we went to St. Matthews Mall and did some walking and sitting till J. C. Penny’s opened. Kathy had an item to return. We stopped and look in a couple other stores then to the food court for lunch. Stopped at Kroger for my prescription on the way home. Put the truck away, inside and some chores. Then a nap. Up and made some phone calls to order parts for the pool chlorination system. Then dinner. Out and finished up working on the pool. Put things away and got in. It was great. Kathy of course couldn’t swim because she is having her hair done tomorrow and can’t get it wet. I asked her if she had a dentist appointment as well but she didn’t get it. After a nice swim went inside for a shower, some computer updates then bed.

7/16/24 – Tuesday – Up at 6AM and out to work shortly before 7. Worked the door to the Circuit Court Clerks office. A long boring day. Had lunch with a co-worker and my boss. Got finished a little after 4PM. Home and had dinner. Usual evening routine.

7/17/24 – Wednesday – Up at 7:30 and made the “Over the Hill” net. Shelby stayed over last night so I spent some time with her. Kathy went shopping with Shelby and I did some computer work running plot profiles for my TARPN network. Shelby stayed for dinner then usual evening routine.

7/18/24 – Thursday – Up at 6AM and into work at 7:30. Worked the door again for the circuit court clerks office. Had lunch with some co-workers. Got done at 4PM. Got gas on the way home. Did some chores around the house. Dinner and usual evening routine.

7/19/24 – Friday – Up at 6AM and into work at 8AM. Had court from 8:30AM to 12:30. Had lunch with some co-workers then back to move some chairs. Home and made a doctor’s appointment and did some banking. Kathy took a nap. She got up and we had dinner. Then out to the auto parts store and Lowes for some things we needed at the house. Home, put the truck away and usual evening routine.

7/20/24 – Saturday – Slept in today till 10AM. Kathy was already out and up to Julie’s to go see the grand kids in a parade. I was stiff and sore from sleeping so long. Had breakfast and took the VIbe over to the Morton building. Did the wiring I had to do on the motorcycle, checked tire pressure and oil level and got it back in it’s place. Weather will not be favorable for any riding this week. Otherwise I would have brought it over to the house. Then pulled the Vibe in and tried to recharge the AC. I got a good deal on AC Pro refrigerant. However, the lady that sold it to me didn’t warn me that it wouldn’t fit in the old style gauge assemblies. So I took a ride down to Taylorsville and got the new style digital gauge with can. Came back and successfully recharged the system. AC works great now. Kathy came home and I helped her unload groceries. Then lunch. Out to pick up the hoses in the yard from filling the swimming pool and getting that going. Inside and hung the new window blind Kathy got a Lowes last night. Then out for a swim. Decided I will put the solar cover back on it. The water was cold. Inside and some computer work. Upstairs for dinner. A shower then the usual evening routine.

Now the specifics:

Several weeks ago some of the guys in the HAM club asked me to help them with Winlink. One of them came up with the idea of getting together some Sunday afternoon and learning about it. I had the church all lined up but then they said they wanted to be able to load the programs. Well, the church has no Wifi so I decided to have them over here. There was only 3 so it all worked out well. Of course they got here around 2PM and wouldn’t leave. I finally had to kick them out around 5 so I could take Kathy to dinner.

Monday I had a doctor’s appointment at Commonwealth Pain and Spine Management. I saw my friend Kelsey and we chatted awhile. She renewed my prescription for Gabapentin and I was out the door. Kathy and I went to the mall but the stores don’t open till 11AM over there. So, we did some walking then to Penny’s for Kathy to return an item. Then to the food court. I had a Gyro. I think it’s the only place other than Arby’s you can get a Gyro in Louisville or surrounding areas. And it’s a good honest Greek Gyro. They are delicious. Then home with a stop at Kroger for the prescription Kelsey put in for me.

Got home and put things away. Did some cleaning up then out to finish getting the pool ready. I immediately went for a swim. Of course Kathy couldn’t go in because she was having her hair done the next day and couldn’t get it wet. I asked her if she had a dentist appointment as well. She just looked at me funny. I swear, that woman had no sense of humor.

I was in swimming Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. It was great. I didn’t go in Thursday because my ears were bothering me a little and I decided to give them a break. I managed to get time to go back in on Saturday. Damn was it cold. I think we’ll put the solar cover on it this week.

I worked the courts Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Tuesday and Thursday I worked from 7:30AM till 4PM on the door at the Circuit Court Clerks office. That’s where people go to pay fines and take care of other court related matters. So, there can be some shady characters come in there and they like the added security. A long day and rather boring. But I get to do a lot of reading.

Friday I worked in Traffic Court. That’s a hoot. And my friend Julie was there with the drug dog Spencer so that’s always a good time.

We had to move some chairs around so we got done with court at 12:30 and went to eat. Then came back and moved the chairs. So I got home around 3PM.

Shelby came over Tuesday evening to stay over. We did some things with her around the house here on Thursday to keep her busy and off her phone. It’s always a good time with her.

If you didn’t read the comments from last week, Lynn posted that things were tore up a bit but no one lost their life and the house wasn’t destroyed. Just minor damage outside. Of course it’s always a pain in the ass dealing with insurance companies and getting people to come do the work. But we are glad everything, and especially you Lynn, is for the most part OK.
