A very busy week………………………………………………………………………….

As always, first the chronology:

11/10/24 – Sunday – Up late today. Raining and miserable out. We decided to blow off church. So, did the blog and some other computer work. Had lunch then cleaned up and in to Gary’s with a stop at Kroger for a prescription. Home, picked up Kathy and off to the local Mexican restaurant. Had dinner, home and put the truck away. Put the replacement handle on Kathy suitcase. Otherwise, usual evening routine.

11/11/24 – Monday – Happy Veterans Day. Up late. Had breakfast without coffee. Got cleaned up and took Kathy into Best Buy to buy a new camera for Christmas. Picked up a free coupon at the Texas Roadhouse over there for veteran’s day. Then to Bob Evans and had a late lunch free on them. Home and put things away. Kathy got her new camera battery on charge while I had a root beer float. Then a nap. Up and dinner. Usual evening routine.

11/12/24 – Tuesday – Up at 6AM and off at 7AM to Norton Hospital. Got my Stress Test done and on my way back home by 11AM. Got home and put the truck away. Kathy was out shopping and stopped to do Julie’s hair. I had lunch with a big cup of coffee then took a nap. Up and did some computer work and made some phone calls for banking business. Then waited for Kathy to get home. Helped her unload things and put them away. Had dinner, blew off the HAM club meeting. Did the usual evening routine.

11/13/24 – Wednesday – Up at 6AM and into work. Opened court house at 8AM. Court started at 9AM. Finished a little before 4PM. Home, cleaned up, had dinner. Usual evening routine.

11/14/24 – Thursday – Up at 6AM and into work. Opened the main court house at 8AM. Court started at 9AM. Went over to the annex and handled the family court session which was over about 10:30AM, then back to the main court house and worked a trial that was going on in the main court room. Finished up around 3PM after everything was back where it should be and things were cleaned up. Home and took a nap. Then Kathy went for Chinese takeout for dinner. Usual evening routine.

11/15/24 – Friday – Up at 6AM and into work. Worked the door from 7:30AM to 4PM with an hour break for lunch. Home and took a little nap. Then a quick stop at the bank for cash and Country Mart for a gift card for Mike’s (Our son-in-law) birthday. Then to the county animal shelter for Spencer’s birthday party. Had a burger and some punch there. Then up to Mike and Julie’s to help celebrate Mike’s birthday. Home and usual evening routine.

11/16/24 – Saturday – Went to bed late last night. Well, late for me. It was after 10PM. Planned to sleep in this morning and didn’t set an alarm. Woke up to look at the clock and it was 11AM. Must have really needed the sleep. So, did my Saturday morning routine rather quickly and got cleaned up and headed up to Cabela’s. Got there a little after 1PM. Julie had plans for the family to get our picture taken at 1:30. The rest of the crew showed up and we got pictures taken. Mike, Julie, Kathy, Carter and Shelby were off to see a movie that of course I definitely wasn’t interested in seeing and Chloe wasn’t either. Plus, Chloe wasn’t feeling on top of her game. So, I took Chloe home and the rest of the crew went to the movies. I stopped for gas before getting to the house. Put the truck away and inside. Had a snack and let the dogs out. Cleaned up some things in the garage. Ordered some medication I’ll need before next weekend. Responded to some requests for feedback and got ready to paint my loading coil. The dogs started barking, I assumed Kathy was home but when I went upstairs is was a false alarm. So, I hung out with the dogs till Kathy got home. Then we had the roast Kathy prepared earlier in the crock pot for dinner. Usual evening routine.

Now the particulars:

Well happy Veteran’s Day. I took advantage of things this year which I don’t normally do. I went to Texas Roadhouse and they were giving out coupons to veterans that can be used anytime till the end of May. Of course it’s a limited menu but still a nice gesture. Then we went to Bob Evans for lunch. They give away a free meal to veterans. But since Kathy ordered off the same menu they gave us both free meals. So that was all good.

We stopped at Best Buy on Monday for Kathy to get a new camera. If you remember, her good camera had an error code when you turned it on and we tried to have it fixed but they don’t have parts for the cameras as old as hers. She has had it for around 10 years. So for my Christmas present to her I bought her a new camera and all the accessories. So other than the nail and hair salon gift certificates, I’m off the hook for her.

Tuesday morning I went for my stress test. I was worried about my left leg giving me problems and not being able to do the treadmill. But my doctor ordered a pharmacology stress test. Basically it means they give you medication that dilates your blood vessels making the heart think you were exercising. Really neat. I had never heard of that before and the tech. said it was because I had been in A-fib. So, long story short, everything looks good on the stress test but because there were anomalies in my CT scan, the cardiology people suggested I talk to my PCP about some Cholesterol lowering medication. So I’ll do that the next time I see him.

Court has been busy this week and will continue next week. The guy that got hired on the same time I did developed a problem with hemorrhoids that put him in the hospital. He had surgery and could be out for several weeks. So, we are all doubling up to cover his shifts.

I got to work my first trial in court this week. It was neat escorting the jury in after they reached the verdict and taking the paperwork from the foreman and handing it to the judge. It was just like on TV. lol

My main training officer is also the K9 officer. The dog’s name is Spencer. Friday night was Spencer’s 5th birthday party. Julie usually throws a party at the county animal shelter to raise money and for everyone to get together. So Kathy and I went and had a burger each and donated some money to the shelter. Friday was also Mike’s birthday so after attending Spencer’s birthday party we went up and had cake.

Saturday we went to Cabelas to have our family Christmas pictures taken. I haven’t got the one with the whole family but here is the grand kids.
