Week Ending 03/22/25

Not an exciting week……………………………………..

As always, first the chronology:

03/17/25 – Monday – Up around 8:30. Did some computer work and got an appointment scheduled with Physical Therapy. Called the office and let them know. Spent time this afternoon working on my Puttikeg straight key. Found a bad interconnect cable and got that fixed and readjusted. Took a nap then dinner. Usual evening routine.

03/19/25 – Wednesday – Up at 6 AM and into work. Worked the handicap entrance to the main court room from 8AM till 4PM. Mike ran and got us lunch. Did my exercises then tried the tread mill but only did 1/4 mile. Usual evening routine.

03/20/25 – Thursday – Up at 6AM and into work the door at the circuit court clerks office. Worked from 7:30AM till 4PM with an hour off for lunch. Home and walked 1/2 mile on the tread mill. No energy to do exercises. Usual evening routine.

03/21/25 – Friday – Up at 6AM and into work. Opened the court room in the annex at 8AM. Court started at 8:30AM and was over by 11:30AM. Mike and I went for lunch at Dairy Queen then back to the main court house for a trial. Had to be there at 1:30PM and court started at 2PM. Was over by 3PM. Home and was too tired to do anymore physical work. Nap till dinner then usual evening routine.

03/22/25 – Saturday – Up at 8:30. Down to do 1/2 mile on the treadmill after breakfast. Then my Saturday morning routine. Back downstairs for another cup of coffee and to do computer updates. Upstairs for lunch then back downstairs to cut up all the cardboard that my new keyboard came in. Then dinner and usual evening routine.

Now the specifics:

I sent a message to the PA at Commonwealth Pain and Spine Management to get me a referral to Physical Therapy. Didn’t hear anything from them but got a call Monday morning from Results Physiotherapy and said they got the referral. I set up an appointment for Tuesday. Got there and asked the important question and the new gal said it would not be a problem to get me in shape for the class in June. Ah, that’s when my Chief Deputy got me in again. She did an evaluation and gave me some exercises and off I went.

I was told I should walk at least a 1/2 mile on the treadmill everyday and then she gave me a bunch of exercises to do. Wednesday I did the exercises after I got home from work but was only able to manage 1/4 mile on the treadmill. Thursday I decided to change it up and did a 1/2 mile on the treadmill but had no energy to get through the exercises. Friday after standing in court for 4 hours I had no energy to do anything. Saturday I did 1/2 mile on the treadmill then waited till after lunch to do the exercises. On two of them I got cramps in the back of my leg and could not do them. I’ll check with them about what do next week.

Julie’s birthday was Wednesday and we all went to Cracker Barrel. What a cluster. Or perhaps I was just cranky. But they expect the table to get cleared so we could have cake and of course the place was swamped and they were only clearing tables when people left. But I guess it was a good time with the family. I had suggested we got to Bob Evans for my birthday but after the experience Wednesday evening, I decided not to do anything extra for my birthday. So Kathy and I had a quiet dinner at home with Chinese take out.

I got a new keyboard for my birthday. The old one died. I might try to fix it later but now I have a nice new keyboard to play. It came Tuesday and I got it together. Sounds really great.

As for work, I had off Monday and Tuesday. Then worked mostly all day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Our boss’s husband got admitted to the hospital this week and was not doing well. He has many healthy issues. This time he apparently had a clogged artery and threw a clot that gave him a stroke. He is still in the hospital and they plan on operating on Monday morning. Hopefully he’ll be good and get to go home Tuesday.

Well that’s about all for this week. As always, hope this finds you safe and well. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again next week.

  1. Glad to hear they got you into Physical Therapy so quickly. Hopefully the exercises and walking will get your strength back.

Well, my “petri dish” niece gave me some if her day care crud. I have one heck of a head cold. Didn’t think you could have that much crap in your sinus! My nose is about ready to fall off. Going through a lot of tissues, aspirin, cold/flu syrup and cough drops. Therefore, been laying low and napping and not getting much done.

oh well, there is always tomorrow or the day after. Until next week….
