Week Ending 10/11/25

Not a very eventful week…………………………….

As always, first the chronology:

10/5/25 – Sunday – Up around 8AM, cleaned up and out to church with Kathy. Home, lunch and a short nap. Out to Gary’s for the afternoon get together. Home, picked up Kathy and off to Rihiski Japanese Restaurant for dinner (That’s where our grand daughter works). While there we heard that our grandson Carter was taken to the emergency room at a local hospital. He apparently had an issue while playing tennis and had to quit in the middle of play. So, we went to the hospital where he was and nothing definitive was established. Julie will follow up on that tomorrow. Then home, dropped off Kathy and down to Country Mart for some shopping. Home and usual evening routine.

10/6/25 – Monday – Up around 8AM. Cleaned up and spent most of the day sorting through health insurance stuff. Throwing out the old and getting the new organized. Again, AT&T is changing things. Now our drug coverage is separate from our advantage plan. Kathy helped which was a blessing as she is more knowledgeable about that sort. Had lunch and dinner. Nothing else exciting today.

10/07/25 – Tuesday – Up at 8AM and cleaned up. Worked on the file cabinet this morning. Went for a doctor’s appointment this afternoon. Virtually nothing exciting there. Doctor said blood work was good and changed no medication. All is good.

10/08/25 – Wednesday – Got a flu shot while at the doctors yesterday and feeling it a little today. Spent most of the day in bed or playing radio. Found out this morning that Julie had issues with Shelby and migraines so she took her to the ER. Chloe came home Tuesday with upset stomach. All with different problems.

10/09/25 – Thursday – Up at 6AM and off to work. Worked the door to the circuit court clerks office from 7:30AM to 4PM with an hour off for lunch. Home and dressed down. Did burgers on the grill for dinner.

10/10/25 – Friday – Up at 9AM. Kathy was off taking grand kids to school. She came home and we were off to the church to do the weekly cleaning. Finished up and went to the Chinese restaurant for a late lunch. Home and unloaded the car. Took a nap then chores around the house. Dinner and usual evening routine.

10/11/25 – Saturday – Up at 8:30AM. Breakfast and some chores around the house. Back down to the office to sort through paper work. Kathy went down to get her bangs trimmed. She came home and we had lunch. She took off to Julie’s and went back to the office. Ended up browsing things on the computer for several hours. Pissed me off that I didn’t do anything constructive so went upstairs for some ice cream then a nap till Kathy came home. Up and dinner. Usual evening routine.

Now the particulars:

All the grand kids had some sort of problem this week. The most serious was Carter having issues in the middle of playing tennis. I’m not clear on all the particulars but he got sick to the stomach, so dizzy he couldn’t stand and rapid heart rate. We stopped over but the doctor was having a conversation with him and we didn’t want to intrude. He looked fine and Julie didn’t seem panicked so we took off for home. Subsequent to that event, Kathy took him for an Echo I believe on Tuesday then Julie took him back to the cardiologist Wednesday to get the result and they were OK. Not sure where that is going from here.

I believe Chloe came home sick from school one day and Julie took Shelby to the ER on Wednesday with a migraine. So, Julie has had her hands full this week. And of course this all breaks lose the week before they are all suppose to go to Germany. Kathy is going and they are leaving this coming Friday. I promised Kathy I wouldn’t got out on the motorcycle till after she leaves.

I had the usual 6 month doctor’s appointment Tuesday afternoon. I had already looked at the blood work and was anticipating a confrontation over my TSH and Levothyroxine dosage. But I was surprised and he didn’t flinch an eye. He apparently did some research and now understand that for my age and with no Thyroid glands, a TSH of detectable to .5 is considered good. Only took me two years of beating on him to get that accomplished.

Work was light this week. Only worked Thursday. Found out that the guy I let off the hook last week on a warrant didn’t show up for court on Friday. I guess I have to be less trusting of people.

Otherwise, just trying to get out from under all the paperwork. We have lived here over 10 years now so I don’t need to be keeping all the stuff back to when we moved here. But it’s a daunting task for me. Not my cup of tea. I guess that’s why it’s taking so long.

That’s the excitement for this week. As always, hope this finds you safe and well. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again next week.

  1. Sure hope everybody feels better over at Julie’s house and the issues are nothing major. Sounds like things have been busy with the kids.

Good news on your 6 month check up.

Isn’t paperwork fun? I scan important stuff as it comes in and keep it electronically now. I have very little paper. Much easier to find things when I need it, especially with two houses and I also manage my brother-in-laws monetary items since Denise passed away.

Nothing exciting here. It has been so hot and humid, you do not want to be outside. That finally broke this weekend. We will have a few days of spectacular weather and then it will be back up in the high 80s and low 90s.

So the gang is going to Germany? Vacation or did I miss a blog entry regarding this? Sounds like you will be dog sitting?

    Take care. Until next week…
