Nothing super exciting this week………………………………………………………..
As always, first the chronology:
11/16/25 – Sunday – Up at 8AM. Off to church with Kathy. Had pot luck after church. We took seperate cars as I was headed into J-town for HAM testing after we ate. Then over to Gary’s for the afternoon get together. Home, picked up Kathy and down to Taylorsville and Hometown for dinner. Usual evening routine.
11/17/25 – Monday – Did some chores around the house but felt sluggish all day. Took several naps. Nothing else exciting.
11/18/25 – Tuesday – Up at 6AM and into work. Only to find that court was cancelled for the day. Back home and a nap. Still felt sluggish. Did manage to get the closet light fixed in the hall. Kathy and I went over the Shelbyville and stopped at Harbor Freight and picked up batteries for all the Christmas decorations and I got Kathy some pliers that were missing from her tool pouch. Stopped at the bank for money and Cattleman’s Steakhouse for dinner.
11/19/25 – Wednesday – Up at 6AM and into work. Split my day between working the handicap entrance to working in the court room. Had a break for lunch. Finished up around 4PM and headed home. Had dinner, a short nap and usual evening routine.
11/20/25 – Thursday – Up at 6AM and into work. Worked the the door to the Circuit Court Clerks office from 7:30AM to 4PM with an hour off for lunch. Home with a stop at Country Mart for some groceries. Had dinner and usual evening routine.
11/21/25 – Friday – Up at 8AM, cleaned up and out to ProScan for my MRI. Got home around lunch time and Kathy was still on her way home from her doctor’s appointment downtown. She got home around 1PM and we had lunch. I finished up an online course for work and got my work days next month on my calendar. A short nap and dinner. Then into the office to do my practical qualifications on the new tasers we got. Home around 9PM and to bed.
11/22/25 – Saturday – Up around 8AM. Really didn’t do anything exciting today. Fixed some things around the house that needed attention. Had lunch and Kathy made a great Dinner. Even if it was chicken. Usual evening routine.
Now the particulars:
First of the week was HAM testing on Sunday. Only one youngster and his father came in. Only the son tested. He only missed 2 questions out of 35 on his Technician exam which was more than passing but did not do so well on the General. But he walked out with what he came for and everyone was happy. He was the only one testing.
Went for my MRI on Friday. I am apparently not on the edge of death as they didn’t call me with any bad news. I won’t know the particulars until I got back to see the pain and spine management folks on the 7th of January. And that will take care of any issues there I hope.
In the mean time I am back to doing the exercises I got at PT and working the treadmill. Nothing seems to be improving but I’ll stick with it.
I had been extremely sluggish the beginning of the week. Tuesday I started thinking that I had just doubled my dose of Cymbalta taking 30mg at night and another 30mg in the morning. So, I stopped taking the morning dose and that fixed that for the most part. We still slept a lot and I think that was because of the rainy and depressing weather outside. But that will pass as well.
One of the online courses I did this week was the lesson on the new Tasers we got. It seems Louisville was upgrading the ones they had and they donated the old ones to us. Which is very good as now we have an alternative to shooting a person if they get out of line. Anyway, I went into the office and met up with the road officer that was in charge of the tasers and got to fire mine. Nifty little devices. Very light weight and they have a multitude of features.
I only worked the two days this week but December’s schedule is a lot more crowded. I am filling in for a guy that is out for back surgery and those are short sessions that most of the guys don’t want. It is hardly worth it for them to come in for 2 to 4 hours as they live a lot further away than I do. So I offered to pick up the shifts and some weeks in December I’m working every day. But in three of the 5 days I’ll home by lunch time or shortly there after.
Well that’s the story for this week. As always, hope this finds you safe and well. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again next week.
Can you believe i read the blog on Monday rhis qeek?? Just checking in. Pretty uneventful week here in Texas this past week too. I have had a few of those “blah” days lately too. Pretty soon I’ll be a lot more busy in Florida.
Stay safe and well… Later…
