Not much to say about this week………………………………..

As always, first the chronology:

7/29/18 – Sunday – Up early and usual morning routine. Out to pick up Gary for church. Home and had coffee while I read the paper. Called Julie to go help Carter with his HAM studying. They were still in bed. Waited for Kathy to come home and had lunch. Then out on the motorcycle to visit a friend in Baptist East Hospital. Took a long way home. Julie and the kids came over to go swimming. I joined them. Inside, they left and we had dinner. Downstairs to do the blog. Upstairs and chores. To bed, computer updates, Hunt for Red October and sleep.

7/30/18 – Monday – Up late and usual morning routine. Chores and cleaned up. Kathy was up early and over to watch grand children. She came over around 1PM and we took the grand children to Dairy Queen for lunch. Back to the house and out to the pool. In and got everyone dressed and treat for afternoon snack. Julie came over and picked them up. Dinner, downstairs to chat with Gary on 2 meters. Upstairs, computer updates, TV and sleep.

7/31/18 – Tuesday – Up at regular time and usual morning routine. Kathy was up in the middle of the night with stomach problems. So I kept close to home today. Was going to visit Mike today but made phone calls instead. No answer. Turns out he was discharged today. Did research on the computer most of the day and practiced CW. Had Brats for lunch. Went to pick up milk and Chinese for dinner. Chatted with Gary on 2 meters. HF bands were dead. Finally to bed, Big Bang, Updates and sleep.

8/1/18 – Wednesday – Up at regular time and usual morning routine. Downstairs and played radio and made the 10AM retirees net. Upstairs for lunch. Back downstairs to work in the office. Falling asleep so upstairs for a nap. Up and out to pick up Gary for dinner. Went to a diner in Mt. Washington. Home and dessert. To bed, computer updates, Big Bang and sleep.

8/2/18 – Thursday – Up late. Did not sleep well last night. Had coffee with desert last evening and had a few things bothering me so only got a couple hours sleep. Got cleaned up and did some chores. Then over to Gary’s house to help him with his garden tractor. Home and a bite of lunch. Then to the Morton building for some chores. Back in the house and did some work. Kathy went to the church before lunch to clean things up. She called and said she was on the way home. I went in and laid down till she got home. Had dinner then downstairs for computer work/updates. Chatted with the guys on 2 meters. To bed, some reading and sleep.

8/3/18 – Friday – Up usual time and morning routine. Out at 10AM to start the mowing. Kathy went grocery shopping. She came home around 1:30 so I stopped and had a bite for lunch. Kathy came out after lunch and helped. Finished a little before 5. In and cleaned up. Dinner and downstairs to chat with Mike and Gary on the radio. Upstairs, chores, bed, computer updates, TV sleep.

8/4/18 – Saturday – Up at usual time and usual morning routine. Cleaned up and out shopping with Kathy. Had many small things to pick up. Had lunch while out. Got home around 2PM. Took a nap, up and dinner. Then chores around the house. Bed, Big Bang, Computer updates and sleep.

Now the particulars:

The good news is our friend Mike came home from the hospital this week.   I had been trying to call him Tuesday and got no answer then Gary told me he was discharged.  He is home and a little uncomfortable but is able to meet us on the radio in the evening.  Don’t know what his limitations are or for how long but I’m sure he’ll be out of commission for awhile.

Tried to do routine maintenance on one of our push mowers a few weeks ago.  It’s the one that Kathy likes so it gets a work out.  Found the fuel filter was inside the gas tank so I ordered one as well as new air filter and spark plug.  Got the stuff in the mail last week so went out to finish the work on the mower.  I had changed the oil already so I replaced the spark plug, put the new air filter in place but I could not for the life of me get the hose off the bottom of the gas tank.  I wanted to mow the following day so I didn’t fool with it anymore.  Then my friend Gary suggested rather than deal with that every time I do maintenance, I could just put an external filter in the gas line.  So, started looking for material to do that and finished up getting it this week. Next week I will be doing the modification for that.

Nothing else really to comment about this week.  A rather quiet week.  Perhaps I’ll have more next week.  Blog at you again then.
