Now the specifics:

Todd’s visit was great.  I didn’t want to see him go back.  I’m not sure he was thrilled to go back.  But time will tell.  He is vested soon at FDNY and may decide to make a move.

Todd and I went to the gun range last week and I went again this week to check somethings out with my 9mm.  Saw a sign that they were looking for sales associates at the store.  I looked into it and the benefits alone are worth a lot.  Free range time and 5% off on all purchases.  So, when I came home I got online and filled out the application.  They asked some very specific questions about prior employment and I had to simply say “I don’t remember”.  As a result I seriously doubt I’ll hear back from them.  But it would be a good way to spend a couple days a week and keep me off the streets.

I finally figured out what I want to do in the HAM shack to make more room.  I need a 18″ by 3′ desk with shelves to put along side my existing table.  So, I drew up some plans and determined what I would need in terms of wood to get started.  Kathy went with me to help and I ended up spending around $250 for the wood.  Of course I’m doing it all in Oak so the wood is extremely heavy, sturdy and expensive.  But it should be very nice when I’m done.  Need to draw up the plans in formal format and then let Mike look at it.  With his approval I’ll start building.

The Spectrum service is not back to what it was but is much improved over what it had been the last couple months.  I still get T3 and T4 errors occasionally and can seldom get a bonded uplink, but the 20 minute outages have ceased.  I’ve taken a few hits but they have only lasted a minute or so.  Improved but still not back to what it was.

OK, that’s it for now.  I plan to post some pictures of Todd’s visit along with a little more information.  Until then, have a great week and I’ll blog at you again next week.
