Now the particulars:
Welcome to August.
Things have been progressing on many fronts. And deteriorating on other fronts. But I guess that’s life.
I’ve been working several projects this week. Still making headway on my display for the radio. But the biggest accomplishment was to completely migrate from Windows to Linux. I am now using my Linux laptop for everything. Actually I’m doing this blog entry on the Linux machine. I got all my email moved over and am slowly getting away from the grips of Microsoft. In the process I also got one of my machines that ran all the time powered down as I don’t need it. I had a file server and my web server running all the time so I consolidated them and only have one machine doing both functions now.
Still working on my Python programming but it took a back seat this week to the Windows to Linux migration.
We have not had much rain the last couple weeks and the grass is showing it. Large areas that are burnt out. Nothing much is growing so we didn’t mow this week. Might attack the stuff that’s growing where the springs are. But even they are drying up a lot.
Kathy got a lot of beans out of her garden so she was busy canning a couple days this week. Got over a dozen pints of beans canned. She was a very happy camper on this front.
Got some more phone calls made this week. Still not done. But I’ll keep at it.
Kathy finally let me take the hand rail down in the stairwell. It was put up rather quickly and the center support was just in the drywall. So, we took it down, patched the holes and remounted it into the studs. Much more stable now.
Wednesday night when we went out to eat the Chrysler overheated. I managed to get it into the parking lot at Bob Evan’s. After it cooled down they lent me a pitcher to put water in it. I didn’t see anything obviously wrong and it ran fine coming home. I haven’t checked it in awhile so I’m not sure what is going on. I’ll try and scope it out later.
Radio bands have been bad all week. So little down on that front.
OK, that’s it for this week. blog at you all again next week.
