A busy week…………………………………………………

As always, first the chronology:

10/15/19 – Sunday – Up early and out to help my son-in-law. Feeling much better today. Had lunch over there and quit about 2PM. Came home and unloaded the truck. In the house and a nap. Kathy was at our friend Dee’s house making prayer blankets for veterans. She got home and took me out to the Cattleman’s Steakhouse for dinner. Home and fixed a computer problem she was having. Downstairs to do the blog and cleanup a little. Upstairs to bed, TV and sleep.

10/16/19 – Monday – Up at usual time, usual morning routine then some chores around the house. Downstairs to continue my efforts of cleaning up behind my shelving unit. Took a break for lunch. Finished the project around 3PM and decided to give the room a little cleaning. Got a little rain this afternoon and my noise went away. Finished cleaning up then upstairs for dinner. Back downstairs and chatted with the guys on 2 meters. Did computer updates then upstairs for dessert. Bed, TV, some work on my audio matrix and sleep.

10/17/19 – Tuesday – Up at usual time and usual morning routine. Out at 10AM to start the yard work. Made three passes in the front yard and the deck quit. Tore it down and discovered a bad spindle. Called the John Deere dealer in Shelbyville and they had them in stock. Drove over and picked up the spindle and a new set of blades. Home and started re-assembling. Finally got started on the yard work a little after noon. Finished up a little before 5PM. Kathy already got cleaned up and was headed over to watch Carter and Chloe till Mike and Julie got home. I got cleaned up and downstairs to chat with the guys on 2 meters. Kathy brought Arby’s home and we had a later dinner. Bed, TV, computer updates and sleep.

10/18/19 – Wednesday – Kathy was up and out early. I slept in till almost 10. Up and usual morning routine, then out to get gas in the truck and pickup cleaning supplies at the auto parts store. Home and lunch. Kathy took a nap I got on the computer and ordered some Keurig pods. Kathy got up and we took her car over to the shop and cleaned up the inside and windows. In the house and cleaned up. Out for dinner at Wendy’s, shopping at Walmart then to Mike and Julie’s to watch the grand children while Julie went to a school meeting. Brought Shelby home with us to stay overnight and stay tomorrow. Dessert, bed, Big Bang, computer updates and bed.

10/19/19 – Thursday – Up and Kathy was getting dressed. Had a call that Carter was sick at school and she had to go get him. I babysat Shelby while she was gone. Kathy came home and I helped with chores then lunch. After lunch cleaned up and over to Shelbyville for some shopping. Back home and put things away. More chores then out to pick up Gary for dinner at Cattleman’s Steakhouse. Back home, dessert and helped Kathy get packed for tomorrow. Also got my tools for tomorrow. Bed, computer updates, TV and sleep.

10/20/19 – Friday – Up early and helped Kathy finish packing. She was off around 7AM to go up to Danville, PA for her nursing class reunion. I got cleaned up, hitched the trailer to the truck and went up to Mike and Julie’s. Picked up Mike and the kids and went to Bob Evans for breakfast. To Lowes to pick up some hardware then to the lumber yard to pick up more material. Back to the house and started putting things together. Left after lunch and went home. Put things away then inside and had a light lunch. Took a little nap and finished up the laundry. Downstairs to chat with the guys on 2 meters. Upstairs for a snack, bed, computer updates, TV and sleep.

Now the particulars:

The blog was late last week because I spent the day at my son-in-law’s place helping him with his closet project.  He is building shelves into their walk-in closet.  He is using LED lighting and that’s the principle reason he has me helping.  So far things are coming along good.  I will post some pictures when it gets close to being finished.

The big story of the week is Shelby going in for surgery.  Some of you may know she had some respiratory issues when she was born and that is an ongoing issue.  However, Tuesday she went for out patient surgery and things were much better than anticipated.  She only had some minor work done on her nasal cavities to clean them out.  The other things they thought they might have to do were not necessary.  So, we spent some time this week watching the grand kids while Mike and Julie were busy with that.  Since Shelby couldn’t go back to school for 2 days we brought her over here Wednesday evening to stay overnight.  Thursday morning Carter got sick at school so Kathy had to go pick him up while I stayed home and watch Shelby.  Then we had both of them the rest of the day.  Kathy was trying to get packed for her trip at the same time.

Kathy left Friday morning to drive up to central Pennsylvania for her nursing school class reunion.  She left around 7AM and got up to the school around 5:30PM.  She met some classmates and they went out for dinner.  Then Saturday was the alumni association luncheon and her class had a get together Saturday evening.  Said she had a lot of fun.

Went out to do the lawn on Wednesday and the lawn mower broke down.  I pulled it into the shop and tore it down to find a blade had apparently loosened up and stripped the spline on the spindle.  So I had to make a quick trip to the John Deere dealer in Shelbyville for parts.  Came home and put things back together and finally got back to mowing 2 hour late.  But every thing worked OK.

Saturday this week I went over to Bullet County to help with testing some people for their HAM license.  The club over there gave a crash course Friday night and Saturday morning and we tested them Saturday afternoon.  Got 5 new HAMs out of the group.
