A good week………………………………………………..
As always, first the chronology:
11/03/19 – Sunday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Checked all the clocks in the house and set them for EST if they didn’t change themselves. Then downstairs to do the blog. Upstairs and waited for Kathy to get home from church and had lunch. Got dressed and over to Gary’s for the afternoon get together. Home and cleaned up. Started downloading info for CQWE contest next weekend. Dinner. Back to finish up downloading things for contest next weekend. Computer updates. Upstairs to bed. Looked over polling officer material, Big Bang and sleep.
11/04/19 – Monday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Cleaned up and out to pay for the work on the Chrysler. Home and did some banking. Then chores around the house. Kathy was out early to go watch the grandchildren today. I spent most of the day on my Arduino project, reviewing material for tomorrow, and doing chores around the house. Kathy came home around 3:30 and we went to get my car at the shop. The to Moby Dick’s for an early dinner. Home and more chores and getting ready for tomorrow. Chatted with the guys on 2 meters then to bed early.
11/05/19 – Tuesday – Got a call from Frankfort around 2:30. Someone called about cows in the road in front of our house. Apparently the neighbor’s cows. So, we got dressed and by the time we got outside, they had migrated to the rear of our lot. Our presence scared them into the brush at the rear of our property and were out of danger. Call Frankfort back and advised. Got cleaned up and made coffee and off to play Judge as a polling officer. Got to the polling place around 5AM and didn’t get out till almost 6:30PM. Stopped and dropped off materials at county clerks office then to Hometown pizza for dinner. Home and unloaded the car and a little cleanup and to bed. Computer updates, Big Bang and sleep.
11/06/19 – Wednesday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Downstairs to pull emails and make phone calls. Kathy was up and out early to take Chloe to a doctor’s appointment. Lunch time went out and started mowing. Kathy came home early afternoon and came out to help. Finished up around 4:30. Inside for dinner and clean up. Downstairs to chat with Gary on 2 meters. Computer updates. Upstairs for dessert, bed, Big Bang and sleep.
11/07/19 – Thursday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Julie called Kathy to go get Chloe who was sick at school. I spent the day working on my Arduino project. Julie came over to pick up Chloe. Kathy went to bell practice and I went in an hour later to meet her after practice. Then up to the funeral home for a friends viewing. Stopped at FDKY for barbeque after and Krispy Kreme. I came home, Kathy stopped at the grocery store for some shopping. Had dessert, then bed, computer updates, Big Bang and sleep.
11/08/19 – Friday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Spent mosts of the day working on the Arduino project. Kathy made food for the funeral of our friend from church. She took that over to the church for the family and was home for lunch. Chatted with the guys on 2 meters and did computer updates. Upstairs to do some chores. Bed, TV computer research and sleep.
11/09/19 – Saturday – Up a little late today and usual morning routine. Didn’t sleep well last night. Got cleaned up and out to start the heaters in the Morton building. Kathy and I went shopping for parts I need and Kerosene. Didn’t have the parts I needed in Taylorsville so we went over to Shelbyville. Stopped at the bank then to Lowes. Got what we needed, stopped at Burger King for lunch and then home. Brought the Chrysler over and started the work I needed to do. Finished up around 4PM and in the house. Had dinner. Downstairs to order some parts online. Than did a little with the CQWE contest this weekend. Knocked off late and to bed.
Now the specifics:
Daylight savings time ended last weekend so the first thing I did on Sunday was to correct all the clock that didn’t autocorrect. I was pleased that the GPS clock I built worked flawlessly again.
CQWE contest is this weekend. It is a contest for all current and former employees of AT&T and any or all of it’s subsidiaries. It started last night and ran about 4 hours and again this afternoon for 4 hours. I spent an hour or so last night working it and will spend some time this afternoon. No competition here, just want to make some contacts.
The Chrysler is back in full working condition. Spent more money on it than I should but I really like the car. Had the garage fix the cooling system which involved replacing the radiator and a module for the fans. While they had it apart they replaced the AC compressor and put a new battery in it. Yesterday I fixed the wiring to the radios I have in it and eliminated the cigarette lighter sockets. Also glued up some material that had broken lose on the head liner. All is good again.
Tuesday was an interesting day. We had gone to bed early Monday night thankfully. We got a call at 2:30AM from Frankfort. They said someone had report cows in the road in front of our house. I explained they were not our cows and gave them the neighbors phone number that does have cows. Then Kathy and I went out to get them back to where they belong but they had already moved to the back of our lot. So I called Frankfort back and advised them. Then we got ready and went to the polls to do that job.
We got to the polls about 5AM. Got things setup and had a rather uneventful day. Everything ran smooth in our precincts. The polls closed at 6PM and we got closed up and finished by 6:30PM. Kathy and I stopped at the county clerks office to drop off the material from the voting. Headed home and stopped at Hometown Pizza for dinner. Got home and unloaded our stuff and to bed early.
Wednesday we did the last mowing of the yard. Didn’t take a lot of time as we were mulching leaves most of the time. Got the stuff to do the fall maintenance on the lawn tractor and will need to do that this week. Then remove the mower deck, put the plow blade on and move it to the garage at the house to standby for it’s possible use if we get any snow accumulation this year.
A good guy from church passed away this week. He was good to Kathy and I. We gave him fire wood for his workshop and he gave me some old radios he had left over from his business in domestic electrical work. The viewing was Thursday so we went after Kathy was done with her bell practice. Then they asked for food for the family on Friday for the funeral so Kathy made some things and took them to the church. She stayed for the funeral.
Well that’s about it for this week. Hope this finds everyone well. Have a great week to come and I will blog at you again next week.
I blame you…I am now watching Big Bang Theory more than I ever have. TV watching is not all that great lately…so my choice is Big Bang! At least it is funny!
