A busy week but nice…………………………………………..

As always, first the chronology:

12/15/19 – Sunday – Up at usual time and usual morning routine. Kathy blew off church today and went shopping. I did the blog and started cleaning up my room. Got cleaned up and over to Gary’s for the Sunday afternoon get together. Home and picked up Kathy and over to Cracker Barrel for dinner in Shelbyville. Went shopping at Rural King and Dollar General. Home and worked on Christmas gifts and did computer updates. Bed, TV and sleep.

12/16/19 – Monday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Worked on getting gifts wrapped for Christmas. Got everything done that I have so far. Three more items are expected in the mail this week that will need to be wrapped and I’m done. Checked into a couple HF nets while wrapping. Then lunch, cleaned up and over to Gary’s to work on his remote system. Isolated the problem to the computer in his shack. I did prove the concept worked. Home and a short nap. Dinner, downstairs to play radio awhile. Computer updates. Upstairs, chores, bed, TV and sleep.

12/17/19 – Tuesday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Kathy was up and out early to go take Chloe to the dentist to have a couple baby teeth extracted. I did chores around the house that Kathy asked me to do in preparation for the company this evening. Kathy came home and we had a late lunch. Then worked on preparing tonight’s meal. Took an hours nap. Then Gary and Loretta and Mike and Gloria came over around 5PM. Had dinner at 5:30. Gary and Loretta left around 7PM as Gary had to get up early the next day for exercise. Mike and Gloria stayed till about 10PM. Had a good time.

12/18/19 – Wednesday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Finished wrapping packages which finished up my preparations for next week. Made some nets while wrapping packages. Had lunch and got cleaned up. Over to Gary’s to pick up the computer that is giving us problems. Worked on that for the afternoon. Up for dinner then back downstairs to chat with Gary on 2 meters. Did computer updates and played radio awhile. Then to bed, Big Bang and sleep.

12/19/19 – Thursday – Up early, usual morning routine and out for a hair cut. home and picked up Kathy and into Taylorsville for to work at the Dare to Care food bank. Stopped on the way home for an early dinner. Kathy was off to Bell Practice and I went downstairs to pull emails and and play radio. Upstairs for dessert, helped Kathy unload the car then bed, computer updates, Big Bang and sleep.

12/20/19 – Friday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Kathy and I went out and got treats at the Tea Cup, a local baked goods shop. Then we played Santa and dropped off goodies at the Post Office and Dentist’s office. Came home and Kathy took the rest down to get her hair done and gave goodies to the folks in the hair salon and the dog groomers. I ran down to ACE hardware and got Kathy a pocket knife as another Christmas present. Then home and wrapped it. Worked on Gary’s computer till Kathy came home. Had a late lunch. Continued work on the computer and played radio. Up for dinner. Back downstairs and chatted with Gary on the radio. Computer updates and upstairs. Chores, Bed, TV and sleep.

12/21/19 – Saturday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Spent most of the day learning VBAN. Kathy went up to Mike and Julie’s around 5PM to watch the kids while Mike and Julie go to a Christmas party. I played radio some today and did chores around the house. No one on the radio this evening at 6:30 so closed things up and went upstairs for a snack and some chores before bed, TV and sleep.

Now the specifics:

All ready for Christmas here.  This has got to be a landmark year.  I have everything ready and wrapped.  It’s all now under the tree.  Last minute item was a pocket knife I picked up at ACE hardware.  The thought came to mind when we were at Dare to Care this week and she kept borrowing mine.

Making progress on Gary’s remote issue.  Got his shack computer recognizing the serial ports and working OK.  Now I just need to get the audio working.

We had Gary and Loretta and Mike and Gloria over for dinner on Tuesday evening.  It was sort of my Christmas gift to them.  We had a good time.  Gary and Loretta had to leave first as Gary had exercise Wednesday morning.  Mike and Gloria stayed till almost 10PM.

Big Bang has been bumped off for all kind of Christmas specials so my TV habits have changed.  I found a free app called Pluto that is free and has a 007 channel that is all the old James Bond movies.  Not sure I’ll be going back to Big Bang after the holidays.

Thursday was Dare to Care.  Kathy and I both went and we worked our butts of this month.  They got a crap load of bottled water that they had to get rid of and that made the boxes very heavy.  We gave out around 150 boxes of food this month.  It felt good to help the needy before the holidays.

Friday we played Santa Claus.  We get goodies at a local establishment call The Tea Cup.  They make great pastries.  So we get them for the folks at the post office, the dentist’s office, the dog groomer and the gals that cut my hair and do Kathy’s hair.  We dropped off the things to the post office and the dentist office.  Kathy was going to get her hair done so she took the goodies for the dog groomer and the hair people as they are located next door to each other.

Next week will be busy.  Probably start today getting things ready for Wednesday.  Wednesday will be an early morning as we go over to Mike and Julie’s to see the grand kids open their presents.  Then home and a nap then everyone will be coming over here for dinner Christmas day.  That should be an enjoyable time.
