Happy New Year.  Not a lot this week………………………………..

As always, first the chronology:

12/29/19 – Sunday – Up late and usual morning routine. Downstairs to do the blog. Upstairs for lunch and cleaned up. Out to Gary’s for the afternoon get together. Home and picked up Kathy and out to return some Christmas items and to do some shopping. Stop at Longhorn for dinner. Home and downstairs to play with computers. To bed, TV and sleep.

12/30/19 – Monday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Spent the day in my room working on computer. Good progress today and very satisfying. Took some time out to make some HF contacts. Chatted with the guys on 2 meters. Then upstairs for chores, bed, TV and sleep.

12/31/19 – Tuesday – Up a little early today and usual morning routine. Worked downstairs on Gary’s project making slow forward progress. Kathy was out running errands. Came home and made candy. Had dinner, to bed, computer updates, Big Bang and sleep.

01/01/20 – Wednesday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Worked with Kathy a little on our trip plans in February. Downstairs and finished up what I’m going to do with Gary’s project. Spent the remainder of the day working on cleaning things up and taking down Christmas decorations. Had a great Sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and hot dog lunch. Played radio awhile this evening. To bed, big bang and sleep.

01/02/20 – Thursday – Up early and usual morning routine. Cleaned up and out for a hair cut. Down to ACE hardware for some appliance light bulbs. Home and loaded tools in the truck and picked up Kathy. Over to Hometown Pizza on Shelbyville road to have lunch with Julie and the grand kids. Back to Julie’s house to do some chores. Then to UPS to drop off a package and Krispy Kreme for some goodies. Home and a short nap. Dinner and downstairs to chat with the guys on 2 meters. Computer updates and upstairs. Chores, bed, research, Big Bang and sleep.

01/03/20 – Friday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Kathy was up earlier and out to watch the grandchildren. I did some chores then cleaned up and over to Gary’s to fix his foot switch. Home and continued with chores. Had lunch then downstairs to do more cleanup. Played with computers till Kathy came home. Dinner and back downstairs to chat with the guys on 2 meters. Upstairs to bed, computer work, movie and sleep.

01/04/20 – Saturday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Chores around the house. Had planned on Carter coming over for kids day on the radio but I guess everyone was too busy. Finalized some plans for our trip to Florida next month. Then took off for Shelbyville for a light lunch and some shopping. Home and unloaded the truck. Took a little nap. Up and had dinner. Downstairs to chat with the guys on 2 meters. Did computer updates and chores around the house. Bed, Big Bang and sleep.

Now the specifics:

New Year’s Eve was a fiasco as are most holidays here at our house.  Julie was trying to find a place for the family to go and kept coming up with many hundred dollars for the night with two adults and three kids.  So it wasn’t till sometime Wednesday afternoon that we got invited over.  Being the look ahead guy I am, I went to take a nap so I wouldn’t be cranky all evening.  When I got up, plans had changed.  Seems Shelby fell and landed on a toy  that apparently had something sharp and managed to cut her ear lobe.  Julie said it looked like it was cut through.  So plans were cancelled and  took Shelby to the emergency room.  Kathy and I did our usual thing and I was asleep long before midnight.

We did have the traditional meal on Thursday at lunch.  Although Kathy was considerate and didn’t put the pork in the sauerkraut.  I like Knockwurst with my sauerkraut and mashed potatoes.  But you can not find that easily around here so I settle for hot dogs.

Got totally frustrated with working on Gary’s project this week and was going to just give it to him as it was.  Later in the week I thought of some solutions to the problems and I’ve continued working on it.

However I did take a break and clean things up in my room.  At least now I have some room to work and got caught up on things.

Julie had some things that needed attention at her place and Mike was too busy with the wood work in the walk in closet so Kathy and I went over this week and spent a couple hours helping her get some things done.
