Now the specifics:

Our grand daughter Chloe got hit with the flu this week.  She was over to our house several days.  It was great having her around but she seemed to be more clinging than usual.  Needless to say I was very much exposed so when I went to the doctor Wednesday morning I got him to call in a prescription of flu medicine for both Kathy and Me.  Last thing we need is to get the flu before our trip to Florida.

The beginning of December I started having some issues with my right upper arm and shoulder.  Nothing major just a pain now and then.  Initially decided to just wait till my regular bi-annual appointment in February and mention it.  However, I have gotten a few emails from KORT where I went to physical therapy that said if I have any aches or pains to just stop by and they would evaluate things.  So, that’s what I did.  I guess I was being naive thinking I could just walk in and get helped.  But that’s what the email suggested and they made my appointment with no questions asked.  When I arrived however, they wanted a script from my primary care doctor.  I didn’t have one and they called and he wouldn’t write one without seeing me.  So, appointment cancelled and the gal that runs the place admitted that the emails were in fact miss-leading.  So, I made an appointment Wednesday to see my primary care doctor.  That’s when I got the flu medicine and he gave me the script for physical therapy.  Went back to them this Friday and they said I had issues with the shoulder and gave me some exercises that seem to be helping and they want to see me again Thursday.

Along with the exercises they gave me this week I pulled out some from when I had back issues and started doing those again as well as working out on the treadmill.  I seem to have gained almost 10 pounds since Thanksgiving and need to lose weight so I can get back into my jeans.

Big Bang has been pre-empted a lot lately so I have been watching some mini-series on various channels.  The first one I watched was The Pacific mini-series and now I’m watching Band of Brothers.  Both are excellent shows.  I would recommend them to anyone that is interested in WW2 historically accurate shows.

Got to play radio a lot this week as the bands improved some.  I got a new location called Corsica.  It’s an island off the coast of Italy in the Mediterranean Sea.  Very few HAMs on the island so it was a rare catch.  Also heard a lot of traffic from Spain, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom and Whales.  Hopefully things are finally starting to improve.

Last but not least we are continuing our travel preparations.  Kathy was scheduled for Jury duty on Monday and was worried it would be a week trial, but it was cancelled.  So she has the whole week to prepare.  Next week may be a brief blog as we will be on the road.

Again, hope this finds everyone well.  Have a great week to come and blog at you again next week.
