A great time away…………………………………………………..

As always, first the chronology.  This will be for the last two weeks since I didn’t post anything last week:

2/1/20 – Saturday – Up a little early and cleaned up. Over to get the truck. Packed things and got on the road at 8:30AM. Temperature was 46 degrees. Trip was uneventful. Stopped a little south of Macon, GA for the night. Got there about 4:30PM and the temperature was 53 degrees. Total miles for today was 505.6.

2/2/20 – Sunday – Up at 7AM and cleaned up. Breakfast and on the road by 8:50AM with a temperature of 46 degrees. Travel was uneventful. Arrived at Ron and Linda’s house a little after 2 PM with a temperature of 62 degrees. Total miles today was 277.8.

2/3/20 – Monday – Up around 7AM and cleaned up. Had breakfast with Ron and Linda and socialized for awhile. Then into the car and drove down to Tarpin Springs. Walked around and took a boat ride out in the Gulf and stopped at an island for a 1/2 hour. Dinner at Olive Garden on the way home. Got home and had some dessert and met Ron’s sister and her husband. Bed and sleep.

2/4/20 – Tuesday – Up around 7AM and cleaned up. Had breakfast with Ron and Linda and they took us up to Saint Augustine for the day. Took a tour of the light house. Back to Ocala and had dinner with Ron, Linda, Lynn and her sister. Back to the house and listened to the State of the Union address. Dessert and bed.

2/5/20 – Wednesday – Up around 7AM and cleaned up. Had breakfast with Ron and Linda and chatted awhile. Left their place around 10:15AM and headed for Florida City. Temperature was in the 60s. Got to Stan’s place in Florida City around 4PM with the temperature of 84 degrees. Chatted with Stan awhile, unloaded some things from the truck then headed to the Texas Steak house for dinner. Did some shopping on the way home then back to the RV and got things in order. Watched TV and to bed. Total miles today was 612.3

2/6/20 – Thursday – Up early and off to Key West around 9:30AM. Temperature was in the low 80s. Got to Key West around 2PM with a temperature of 82 degrees. Total miles today 147.3.

2/7/20 – Friday – Up at the usual time and back into Key West. Finished up around 2:30PM and headed home. Temperature was in the 70s. Total miles 136.3.

2/8/20 – Saturday – Up at the usual time. Weather a little cool and overcast today. Spent the morning in the RV chatting and organizing things. Out after lunch to the Coral Castle. Then a ride around to see the area and a stop at Biscayn National Park. Dinner at Olive Garden and back to the RV. Computer updates, TV, bed and sleep.

2/9/20 – Sunday – Up at the usual time and usual Florida routine. Had breakfast and Kathy went to water arobics with Stan. I stayed in the RV and got cleaned up, packed and moved my stuff out to the truck. Kathy and Stan came back late and we had lunch around 1:30PM. Then a walk around the RV park. Kathy loaded her stuff in the truck and a short time before 4PM we moved over to our motel. Got checked in and did the laundry. Finished a little before 7PM then up to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner and Walmart for some shopping. Back to the motel, folded clothes, organized, did computer updates, TV and sleep. Total miles driven today 5.4.

2/10/20 – Monday – Up at the usual time and over for breakfast at the motel office. Then over to pick up Stan and out to the alligator farm. Stopped at a vegetable stand on the way back. Had barbeque for lunch. Then to Homedepot for some wood for Stan. Stopped at the outlet mall on the way back to the motel. Kathy went to the pool for more sun and I did computer updates. Back over to Stan’s for Kathy to play bingo tonight. Had a bite to eat there then back to the motel. Computer updates, bed and sleep. Total miles driven today 19.0.

2/11/20 – Tuesday – Up at the usual time, grabbed a cup of coffed on the way over to pick up Stan. Up to see the Orchid gardens then over to see the Fruit and Spice state park. Bought some goodies while there. Then over to the Kraus farm stand for the best cinnamon rolls in the country. Also had a home made chocolate milk shake. Then back to drop Stan off at the RV and over to the motel. Kathy went to the pool and it started to rain again. I did computer updates and copied pictures. Took a nap then cleaned up and over to pick up Stan for our goodbye dinner at Applebee’s. Back to the motel and packed the truck for the start of our trip home tomorrow. Total miles today was 28.3.

2/12/20 – Wednesday – Up at the usual time, packed the truck and headed north. Our plans for our first stop got changed due to problems they were having at the house. So we took our time and drove directly to Titusville. Left Florida City around 8:30AM and got to Titusville around 1:15PM. Got checked into the Bed and Breakfast then out for a late lunch. Back to the B&B and picked up some things and headed for the National Park. It’s on the Atlantic Ocean so Kathy got to walk on the beach for awhile. Then back to the B&B and got things organized. Out for dinner at the Mexican place right in front of the B&B. Total miles driven today 287.2.

2/13/20 – Thursday – Up at the usual time and downstairs for breakfast. Then off to the Kennedy Space Flight Center. Got there around 9AM and stayed till about 2:30PM. A lot to see and hear. We didn’t have time for all of it. Then back to the B&B. Kathy went out on the balcony for a little sun, came in and we had a little nap. Then out to Dogs R Us for dinner. Got gas on the way back to the B&B. Got things organized for tomorrow’s departure for Macon. Next to the last lap before we get home. Total miles today 27.1.

2/14/20 – Friday – Up at the usual time, usual morning routine and downstairs for breakfast. On the road a little before 9AM. Got to Byron, GA around 4PM. Long trip, accidents and construction on 395. OK after we got on 75. Total miles today 389.3

2/15/20 – Saturday – Up early and on the road approximately 8:30AM. Had a lot of traffic but made it home by 5PM. Total miles today was 506.6. Total miles for the trip was 2709.

We never advertise that we are traveling as we don’t want to invite people to break into our place while we are gone.  But we departed Fisherville, KY on 2/1/2020 and headed for Florida.  We made a stop in Macon, GA the first night then continued to Ocala, FL. to visit and stay with friends for a couple days.  Then down to Florida City and out to Key West for a day.  Back to Florida City and did some sight seeing around that area and then started our trip north.  We stopped in Titusville, FL for two nights so we could visit the Kennedy Space Flight center.  Then continued home.  We got back approximately 5PM on Saturday 02/15.

That’s all I’m going to say for now.  I have a blog entry to do on our trip to Texas then I’ll do one on our trip to Florida.  So that’s it for now.  Stay tuned for more blogs with pictures.
