Not an exciting week………………………………………..
As always, first the chronology:
4/26/20 – Sunday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Chores around the house then downstairs to do the blog. Light snack for lunch and back downstairs to do the Python coding for the garage door project. Got most of it done and upstairs for dinner. Back down to chat with the guys on 2 meters. Computer updates then chores and upstairs to bed. TV and sleep.
4/27/20 – Monday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Out to the auto parts store for things to change the tires on the tractor. Nothing to be found so home and started work on changing the front tires. Finished about noon. In for lunch. Downstairs to work on my garage door project. Up for dinner. Back downstairs to chat with the guys on 2 meters. Cleaned up a little and to bed. Computer updates, TV and sleep.
4/28/20 – Tuesday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Chores this morning. Had lunch then out on the Motorcycle for a long ride. Home and did burgers on the grill for dinner. Downstairs to chat with the guys on 2 meters. Computer updates. Upstairs to watch Big Bang while polishing shoes and boots. To bed, more Big Bang and sleep.
4/29/20 – Wednesday – Up early this morning. Kathy was up early to go babysit the grand kids. She is about as stealthy as a bull in a china shop. Anyway, got an early start on cleaning up the stuff in my ham shack. Then over to Shelbyville to pick up Gyros at Arby’s for lunch. Home and ate. Then started cleaning up the motorcycle gear. Took a nap. Up and continued clean up efforts. Kathy came home and we had dinner. Downstairs to chat with the guys on 2 meters. Some computer updates. Upstairs, chores, bed, Big Bang and sleep.
4/30/20 – Thursday – Up a little early again this morning. Kathy was up and out to babysit grand kids again today. Usual morning routine. Then stripped the bed and started laundry. Cleaned up the kitchen between loads. Had a light lunch. Downstairs to use carpet cleaner on the inside of one of my helmets that developed some mold. Took a short nap till Kathy came home and had dinner. Downstairs to chat with the guys on 2 meters. Some chores then to bed, computer updates/research, Big Bang and sleep.
5/1/20 – Friday – Up a little early and usual morning routine. Got cleaned up and helped Kathy to make some sandwiches that you heat in the oven. Put some in the freezer and kept two packages out for dinner. Ordered Chinese for lunch and went down to Taylorsville and picked it up. Then outside to burn some brush. In and dinner. Chatted with the guys on 2 meters. Computer updates. Upstairs to bed, TV and sleep.
5/2/20 – Saturday – Up at the usual time and usual morning routine. Kathy got ready and went over to help Julie with some things today. I went downstairs and checked the bands but not good and there is a contest this weekend. So finished up the cleaning and organizing of my motorcycle gear. Then started working on the parts layout for my garage door interface board. Realized it was 2PM and I hadn’t eaten so I went upstairs, checked the mail and had a snack. Went to bed for a nap. Kathy came home and we had dinner. Downstairs and chatted with the guys on 2 meters. Computer updates. Upstairs to bed, Big Bang and sleep.
Now the specifics:
Last year the right front tire on the lawn tractor developed a leak so I plugged it. Of course that is a temporary measure and sure enough it started leaking. Thought about putting a tube in it but decided new tires was best. Found a couple at Walmart that were good quality for about $18 a piece so bought them and put them on this past Monday. The job was worse than changing a car tire. Anyway, it’s done.
Tuesday I took a nice long motorcycle ride. Found a new route that added about 50 mile to my previous route. Was out for around 3 hours. A great ride.
I finally got enough Python under my belt that I was able to finish the coding for the garage door project I’m working on. Ordered the parts to put the interface together. Need some heat sinks for the microprocessor and I’ll be able to finish building it and get it installed.
We have a pile of brush that needs to be gotten rid of so we went out this week to try an burn some of it. Unfortunately Kathy decided to do things her way which clogged the burn barrel so we didn’t get much done. Perhaps this week one day I’ll take the chipper out and get rid of a bunch and burn the large stuff.
Well that’s about it for this week. I will not bore you with the COVID crap again this week. Allow me to leave you with just a few of my opinions on the subject.
First we have an opinion echoed by a very famous and respected individual:
Then there’s this:
And last but not lease:
Hope this finds everyone in good health and spirits. Please don’t let the bastards get you down. Stay safe and healthy my friends. Blog at you next week.
