Week Ending 8/6/22

Another bad week……………………………………………..

As always, first the chronology:

7/31/22 – Sunday – Up at the usual time.  Out to church with Kathy.  Home, lunch and nap time.  Up and out to Olive Garden for dinner. Home, did the blog and usual evening routine.

8/1/22 – Monday – Up a little early this morning and up to Brownsboro Road for a Pain Management appointment.  Worthless effort today.  Home and back to bed.  Have no energy at all.  Had a snack for lunch and did some chores this afternoon.  Kathy was watching grand kids all day.  She came home and we had dinner.  Then the usual evening routine.

8/2/22 – Tuesday – Up a little late today.  Feeling even worse.  Decided around lunch time to just get out and run some errands.  Kathy was up watching the grand kids.  I went to Kroger for some prescriptions and to Feeder Supply for dog food.  Home and a snack.  Some chores around the house.  Then a nap till Kathy got home.  Dinner and usual evening routine.

8/3/22 – Wednesday – Up at the usual time.  Still feeling like shit.  Managed not to lay around all day.  Got the first of the month chores done this morning.  Played radio this afternoon.  Otherwise just the usual things.

8/3/22 – Thursday – Up a little late this morning.  Didn’t sleep well last night.  Cleaned up and out to the Cardiology folks for an EKG.  Got a call from the PA before I got home and she thought I should go to the ER to get things under control as she didn’t think it could be done outpatient.  Grab a sandwich at Dairy Queen then gather things and headed for the hospital.  Needless to say I got admitted.  Nothing else clear at this time.

8/4/22 – Friday – Didn’t sleep well last night.  Only got a couple hours sleep.  Treated well and food is good.  But I’m confined to my room as I’m on telemetry.  Otherwise, nothing unusual.

8/5/22 – Saturday – Got sprung from the hospital.  Everything is stable for now.  Need to followup with the PA at the Heart Rhythm Specialty Center this week. Hopefully earlier this week rather than later.  Got home and was glad to get comfortable and get to bed and sleep without bells and gongs and being probed every couple hours.  Usual evening routine.

Now the specifics:

Went to a pain management appointment Monday morning. They are the people that give me the lumbar spinal injections. Well the nurse practitioner was apparently having her period. I asked for a refill on the Medrol Pack her boss had given me. She abruptly informed me they didn’t just give those out for no reason and stomped out of the room. That’s the last time I’ll be in that office.

Kathy watched grand kids Monday and Tuesday this week. Nothing new on that front. She will watch them again this week but they go back to school Wednesday. That will be the end of that obligation. Well until Julie comes up with another one.

Felt like shit all week. Did manage to just ignore the discomforts and got out to get some prescriptions on Wednesday and pickup dog food at Feeder’s Supply.

Thursday things started to take a turn. I had an appointment with the Heart Rhythm group (They are actually cardiology type people but specialize in heart rhythm issues rather than actual muscle or artery problems.). I was scheduled for an EKG and the PA that takes care of me was making rounds at the hospital. She was trying to get back but running late so Kathy and I left. We headed home and before we could get there we got a call from Sheri (The PA). She advised me to go to the ER and let them admit me. She would be in touch with the hospitals cardiac people. Sure enough, we grab a bite of lunch and gather some clothes, tooth brush, etc and headed up. They admitted me and the the cardiologist came to see me. He had already been in touch with Sheri and they had a plan of attack. I won’t got through the details here but will do another blog entry on the hospitalization. They did exactly what they wanted and got exactly what they expected. I was out Saturday feeling 250% better. Per the wife and Julie’s suggestions, I’m going to take it easy till I followup with Sheri this week. Hopefully I’m stabilized now and will start feeling better.

Well that’s the general way things went this week. Two days in the hospital but feeling much better now. I guess in retrospect I should have left them admit me the last time I was in the ER. Anyway, as always, hope this finds everyone safe and healthy. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again probably tomorrow.
