A helluva week……………………………………………………………………………………….

As always, first the chronology:

7/24/22 – Sunday – Didn’t get home from the ER till almost 7AM.  Needless to say I had a bite to eat and went to bed.  Up a little after 12 Noon.  Slept most of the day.  Was concerned so looked up side effects of the drug they used to slow my heart rhythm and it said I would be tired.  Did do the blog and paid some bills in the evening.  Otherwise nothing exciting.

7/25/22 – Monday – Up at the usual time.  Kathy was getting ready to go out and watch the grand kids.  I made some phone calls and got an appointment at a Cardiac Center on Dutchman’s lane.  Tried to get an appointment for a televisit with my PCP but  he is off today.  Had lunch then headed up to Browsboro road to have my knee looked at.  Dr. Stephenson said it was OK, probably just inflamed and at my age needed some help healing.  So he gave me a shot in the knee that should help in a couple days.  Stopped at Lowes which is close the doctor’s office and got a water filter for the refrigerator.  Came home and found that one of the dogs shit in the kitchen.  It looked somewhat like diarrhea so I couldn’t get upset.  Apparently one of them was sick.  I cleaned that up, put the new filter in the refrigerator then laid down till Kathy got home.  Went to Dairy Queen for dinner.  Usual evening routine.

7/26/22 – Tuesday – Up late this morning.  Didn’t sleep too well.  Apparently I went back into A-Fib sometime yesterday.  Anyway, I noticed it last evening and it bothered me all night.  So today spent most of the day in bed sleeping.  Did manage to get an appointment tomorrow with our PCP.  Hopefully he will give me something to fix this situation.  Otherwise, pretty much a boring day.  Was rainy and miserable outside.  And of course the usual evening routine.

7/27/22 – Wednesday – Up at the usual time.  Kathy was off to watch the grand children.  I did some chores, got cleaned up and left the house around 10:30AM for the doctor’s.  Nothing exciting there.  He didn’t do anything just wanted to get posted.  Then down to my daughter and son-in-law’s place to work on rebuilding the barbecue grill.  Started getting warm so I got most done and will got back to finish it up.  Then to Shelbyville.  Stopped to get money out of the bank.  To Lowes for a water filter for the refrigerator.  Then to Arby’s for a late lunch.  Home and put things away.  Played with the dogs then took a nap till Kathy got home.  Usual evening routine.

7/28/22 – Thursday – Up a little early this morning.  Over to get Gary for our hair cuts.  Home and then down to the church to do some cleaning in the sanctuary.  Stopped at Subway for a late lunch.  Home and to bed.  Heat knocked the crap out of me.  Up and dinner.  Usual evening routine.

7/29/22 – Friday – Up a little late.  Rough night last night.  Felt crappy this morning.  Took my time getting cleaned up.  A snack for lunch then off to the Doctor’s office.  Finished up there and headed home with a stop at Burger King for a snack.  Home for 1/2 an hour than out to see Chloe perform at her circus camp.  Had dinner with the Rice family afterward at Yoki’s Buffet.  Home and usual evening routine.

7/30/22 – Saturday – Up at the usual time.  Our son-in-law Mike came over to help us with the yard work today.  Not a bad day.  Had dinner and usual evening routine.

Now the specifics:

Just to clear up some possible confusion, yes, I went to Lowes twice this week for water filters for the refrigerator. The red light was on so I stopped and got one and when checking out realized that with my discounts and the fact they are on sale, I’m getting them for 25% off. So, I went back and got another one to have on hand. Should be good for 6 months now.

Well, the main story of the week. Last Saturday I felt like crap. Woke up with gastrointestinal issues and went back to bed. As the day wore on I felt worse and finally at around 7:30PM I gave it up and went to the ER. They ultimately diagnosed me as being A-fib with a heart rate greater than 140. So the kept me till around 6AM Sunday morning. They gave me some medicine to bring down my heart rate and I apparently came out of A-fib on my own. Then Monday I went to an Orthopedic guy for a shot in my knee. After that I think I was back in A-fib. Wednesday I went to my PCP for followup and he said I was in normal sinus. Thursday we went down to clean the church and when I was done there I felt like shit again and was apparently back in A-fib. Finally got into see people in the Cardiology group and they confirmed I was in A-fib again and my heart rate was high. So they put me on Eliquist (SP?) to thin my blood so I don’t have a clot while in A-fib and another medication to slow my heart rate. Whatever it makes me feel like shit. So those are the events of the week relative to my health. Tomorrow I go see the lady from pain management about my back. Later this week I return to the Cardiac specialist and get another EKG. Also have a echo scheduled for sometime next month. With any luck, they will figure out what caused me to go into A-fib and treat that problem and get rid of all these other shit medications.

The highlight of the week was going to see Chloe’s performance at the end of Circus Camp this week. Here are a few pictures of her routine.

OK, that’s it for this week. The rest of the time I was just laying in bed trying to sleep and make all the bad things go away. But that doesn’t work.
