Not an exciting week, not much happening…………………………………..
As always, first the chronology:
2/5/23 – Sunday – Up at the usual time. Cleaned up and out to church with Kathy. Home and lunch. Downstairs to do the blog. Up and a short nap then out to Gary’s for the afternoon get together. Home, picked up Kathy and to Cattlemans’s for dinner. Home and usual evening routine.
2/6/23 – Monday – Up at the usual time. Down to do my 20 minutes on the treadmill. Kathy took off to help Julie with some things. I made some phone calls and did some research online. Then lunch. Downstairs and played radio and got the wiring done on my new battery for my GoBox. Kathy came home and forgot her phone at Julie’s so we went out for dinner at Bob Evans, then a trip to Harbor Freight. Then over to Julie’s to retrieve Kathy’s Cell Phone. Home and usual evening routine.
2/7/23 – Tuesday – Up at the usual time. Played radio this morning. Had lunch. Got the fan for the Fender amplifier. Spent the afternoon installing it. Powered up the unit. It Played awhile, then a sharp snap and nothing. I gave up for today. Up for dinner and usual evening routine.
2/8/23 – Wednesday – Up at the usual time. After breakfast down to do 30 minutes on the treadmill. Spent the rest of the day in the shack. Finished up wiring up my battery for portable operation. Did some more checking on the amplifier. Nothing else exciting. Usual evening routine.
2/9/23 – Thursday – Weather looked good today for a motorcycle ride but the wind picked up so I didn’t go out. Played radio most of the day. Got my IGBT transistors in the mail and tried them out to no avail. Usual evening routine.
2/10/23 – Friday – Up at the usual time and cleaned up. Out to clean the church. Went to the Mexican restaurant in Taylorsville for lunch. Home and put things away. A little nap then up and into J-town to help with the HAM testing at the Masonic Lodge. Usual evening routine.
2/11/23 – Saturday – Up at the usual time. Kathy was out and up to help Julie with some things. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill then spent the rest of the day in the office getting caught up on computer things and getting some financial stuff squared away. Usual evening routine.
Now the specifics:
I have been very hard at work trying to lose weight. Not only because the cardiologist said I should but I’m suffering the downside of being fat. Clothes don’t fit. Belly gets in the way. Just a multitude of problems. I have adjusted my diet and I’m walking the treadmill for 20 minutes at least 3 times a week. The 27th I have an appointment with a PA at the Pain Management place I go to and I’m going to ask her to send me to Physical Therapy which should help my endeavor. So far I’ve lost 7 pounds. Only have about 50 more to go.
Monday I worked on putting the connectors on the cables for the battery I plan to use for portable operation. A very difficult job when you are dealing with 10 gauge wire. It doesn’t bend real easy.
Tuesday the fan came in for the Fender Amp I am working on. I got the fan installed and put the thing back together. I powered it up and played music through it. That lasted a short period of time and there was a snap and it stopped playing. My first thought was that I hooked something up wrong but I triple checked that and everything was where it was suppose to be. So now my efforts will be toward isolating the problem. Then identifying it and hopefully replace any bad components.
I got the IGBT transistors this week. They don’t work like I thought either. So that’s going to take more trouble shooting.
Only other things I did this week was play radio and do paperwork for the annual finance review/moves/etc. Also need to get working on taxes as well. I hate paper work.
I did have one interesting thing happen while chatting with a guy in Texas via digital HAM radio. He commented that he was a math professor and I mentioned my brother-in-law’s name and he knew him. Small world I guess.
I was planning to go motorcycle riding this week but the wind picked up and I decided not to do that. Perhaps this coming week
Well that’s about it for this week. Nothing new or exciting. As always, hope this finds everyone safe and healthy. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again next week.
I have been negligent on reading the blog on a weekly basis. All caught up now. I have been at my sister’s starting on the yardwork. Have tree guys coming this week to do a lot of work. Then…all the raking will start. That is my annual spring exercise program!
