Week Ending 4/20/19

Another busy week……………………………………………

As always, first the chronology:

4/14/19 – Sunday – Up early and out to pick up Gary for church. Home, coffee and the paper. Downstairs and did the blog. Lunch, some research. Then over to Gary’s for the afternoon get together. Home and a nap. Then up to Mike and Julie’s for dinner with Kathy. Back home, to bed, Big Bang, computer updates and some reading. Sleep.

4/15/19 – Monday – Up and played radio. Did some chores. Had lunch, then loaded some things in the truck and went up to Mike and Julie’s. Got the Pontiac I inherited checked over and headed home. Kathy drove and we pulled it into the Morton building. Spent a few hours going over it and replacing battery terminals. Then took a drive down to Taylorsville to turn in some license plates. Back home and some research. Dinner. Down to meet the guys on 2 meters. Upstairs some more chores. Bed, computer updates, research, TV and sleep.

4/16/19 – Tuesday – Up and played radio. Kathy came home with Chloe. I went out and did some work in the Morton building. Kathy had some errands to run so I watched Chloe. Kathy took Chloe home and I did a lot of computer research. Dinner, chatted with the guys on 2 meters. Bed, computer updates, Big Bang and sleep.

4/17/19 – Wednesday – Kathy was up early and up to take care of Chloe again today. I got cleaned up and went over to move Gary’s TV. Over to Shelbyville for some auto parts, the bank and Lowes. Home and took Kathy and Chloe to Dairy Queen for lunch. Home and put things away. Out on the motorcycle for an hour. Home and Kathy was feeling sick. Called and said she would not be at Dare to Care. I gave her some medication and went over to pick up Gary and then to the church for dinner. Home and a state police car was in my driveway. A dump truck went off the road into the field across from our place. Kathy wanted gingerale so I went to County Mart for that. Held up in traffic for 1/2 hour while they got the dump truck out of the field. Home and downstairs for computer updates. Upstairs to bed and sleep.

4/18/19 – Thursday – Up early and out for my hair cut. Was going to take the Pontiac but the battery was dead. So went to the auto store and got a new one and installed it with new battery terminals. Had a bite of lunch then to the Buick dealer to have the recalls on the Pontiac taken care of. Spent 4 hours there then home and a great dinner. Downstairs and chatted with the guys on 2 meters. Upstairs to bed, computer updates, Big Bang and sleep.

4/19/19 – Friday – Woke up early today. Cleaned up and chores around the house. Then off to Lense Crafters to order a pair of glasses. Then to Lowes to get a water heater for the Morton Building. Had lunch while out. Home and unloaded. Kathy went grocery shopping and I went to work in the Morton Building. Took care of some things on the motorcycle then started pulling the old water tank out. Went to Taylorsville for parts with no luck so back to Lowes for what I needed. Back home and finished installation. To the house for dinner. To my room to chat with the guys on 2 meters. Computer updates. Upstairs to bed, some TV and sleep.

4/20/19 – Saturday – Up and breakfast. Downstairs and cleaned up my office and got a magazine ready to send. Lunch then out to the Morton building to do some maintenance. Back to the house and computer work. Dinner, reading, TV, bed, Big Bang and sleep.

Now the specifics:

Mike and Julie inherited a 2009 Pontiac Vibe when Mike’s dad passed away.  It has been sitting in their drive way many months just rotting away.  I think Mike was trying to sell it but he wanted too much.  Julie suggested they give it to me then I could fix it up, license and insure it and they could use it if and when they needed an extra car.  And it wouldn’t be sitting in their driveway. That was all good with me.  We finally got the title and registration finished up last week.  Of course the car wouldn’t start.  So, I took a battery charger up and a tank of air to make sure the tires where all inflated and we brought it to our house.  New battery and battery terminals.  Checked and topped off fluids and took it to get all the recalls worked on it.  They did the air bag recalls which were the most important but they didn’t have the parts for the others.  So, they will order them and I’ll take it back for that.  Otherwise, we have another fully functional vehicle for people so use if they are in a bind.

Spent a lot of time out working in the Morton building.  Doing the usual maintenance on the lawn equipment.  Changing oil, spark plugs, fuel filters and cleaning air filters.  Got most of that done.  Still waiting on some parts for a couple items.

Also replace the water heater in the Morton building.  The old one was leaking and was the original one and probably 10 or more years old.  So it was time.

Kathy had a touch of something we suspect was viral.  Wednesday afternoon she complained of acute abdominal pain and she felt like she was going to throw up.  So, we got her to bed and gave her some medication to settle her stomach.  By the next morning it had passed for the most part however her stomach hurt for a couple days till she was back to normal.  All is well now.

Well that’s it for this week.  Hope all is well and you have a great week coming up.  Bue for now.
