A hectic and laborious week…………………..

As always, first the chronology:

5/12/19 – Sunday – Up and out early to pick up Gary for church. Home then out to Mitch’s Fish Restaurant to celebrate Mother’s Day with the Rice family and Dee. After dinner went over to the Rice’s place. Kathy and Dee were going to help Julie do some rearrangement so the grand kids could all have their own rooms. So, I came home. Kathy was suppose to be a couple hours so I thought I’d lay down for a nap. Woke up at 5:30 and felt like shit from sleeping so long. Julie finally brought Kathy home and we had a small bite for dinner. Did some chores then downstairs to do the blog and computer updates. Played radio awhile then upstairs to bed, Big Bang and sleep.

5/13/19 – Monday – Up early. Kathy got an early morning call to go watch two of the grand children staying home sick today. I made myself breakfast then cleaned up the kitchen. Then downstairs to play radio. Bands where bad so did some computer work. Upstairs for a little nap. Up and had lunch. Down to play radio. Bands improved. Kathy came home and we went to Rural King to exchange shorts I bought that were too small. Stopped at Cattleman’s Roadhouse for dinner. Home and met the guys on 2 meters. Played radio awhile. Upstairs and chores. Bed, TV and sleep.

5/14/19 – Tuesday – Wow, a very busy day. Up early and got propane tanks collected and checked gauge on large propane tank. Loaded the truck and into Taylorsville to the County Clerks office to vote. Stopped at Greenwell Propane and dropped off tanks that needed filled or topped off. Showed them a picture of the guage on the large tank and they calculated things and determined I have enough propane to run my generator for almost a week. In that time they could be out to refill it. Home and got Bella, then to the vets to get her some shots she was due. Home and some chores, had lunch. Then loaded some tools in the car and Kathy followed me into the BMW dealership to get the annual maintenance done on the motorcycle. Let the motorcycle at the dealership. Then to Kroger to shop for Dare to Care. To the church to drop things off and to fix the leg on one of the tables in the kitchen. Home, put things away and played radio awhile. Had dinner, downstairs to chat with the guys on 2 meters. Computer updates. Bed, Big Bang and sleep.

5/15/19 – Wednesday – Another busy day. Up and chores, then out to pick up propane tanks. To the bank and Lowes for water filter for refrigerator. Home and unloaded things. Put propane tank on BBQ grill and changed water filter. Did burgers on the grill for lunch. Continued with chores around the house. Over to pick up Gary for dinner at Dare to Care. Home, desert, to my room for computer updates. Bed, Big Bang and sleep.

5/16/19 – Thursday – Up early. Kathy got called to go pick up Shelby and keep her today. I had breakfast and did chores. Kathy came home and took me to get my hair cut. Then took me to the motorcycle dealer to pick up my motorcycle. I came home and Kathy went shopping. Did some things around the house and had lunch. Then took off on the motorcycle for the afternoon. Home and did some work on the bike. Did dogs on the grill for dinner. Downstairs to chat with Mike on 2 meters. Computer updates. Then upstairs to bed to watch the final episode of Big Bang.

5/17/19 – Friday – Up and out early. Cleaned up some things in the Morton building. Kathy came out and we rototilled her garden and put down the lime and fertilizer. Then inside for a bite of lunch. Back out and worked on the pool. Got the filter and pump ready and siphoning the water off the cover. I think we have a leak in the liner. Hope we can patch it. Will see tomorrow when we get into it more. Inside and cleaned up. Kathy went up to baby sit the grand kids while Mike and Julie went out. I did dogs on the grill and had some backed beans. Downstairs to chat with the guys on 2 meters. Computer updates. To bed, TV and sleep.

5/18/19 – Saturday – Up and out to mow the lawn. Took time out to pull the cover off the pool. Out for dinner at Bob Evans. Then shopping. Home and computer updates. Bed, Reading, Big Bang and sleep.

Now the specifics:

Last Sunday was Mother’s Day and we all celebrated by going to Mitch’s Fish restaurant.  A long story how we ended up there but it’s one of Mike’s favorite places and Kathy and Julie said they were not cooking.  Our friend Dee came with us.  It was the first year for Mother’s day since her mother passed away.

Kathy spent two days this week with the grand kids.  Monday she spent the day up at the Rice home taking care of a Carter and Chloe.  Thursday she had Shelby for the day.

We voted this week as we are polling officers for the upcoming primary election here in Spencer County.  It is expected to be a very low turnout and we work in a very small precinct so we went out to a used book store last night and picked up plenty of reading material to keep us busy.

We worked our asses off Friday and Saturday this week.  Friday we rototilled the garden several times.  It was very wet so the rototiller got bogged down.  But we were able to break things up.  Then we put down the lime and fertilizer and did it a couple more times.  Then we worked on the pool.  Saturday we were up and out to mow the lawn.  Two days of very physical exercise.

I got the annual maintenance done on the motorcycle this week.  Took it over Tuesday and picked it up Thursday.  It was rather expensive as I just turned over 50,000 miles this year.  But all is good now for another year.  And I took advantage of getting it back by spending the afternoon Thursday riding over and up the Dixie Highway.

We got the cover off the pool.  Water was really down.  I’m not sure what happened.  I was expecting it to be less as a result of a leak but I’m not sure at this point.  The pillow under the cover deflated and perhaps the water on the top of the cover displaced the water in the pool.  I really don’t know what happened.  So, we will fill it up and see if it holds.

It would not be a complete blog if I didn’t mention the last episode of The Big Bang Theory.  It was aired this past Thursday in a double episode event.  I won’t tell you the specifics as I don’t want to be a spoiler but it was very good in my opinion.  I will miss the show although I’m confident they will be replaying episodes for a long time.
