Not much exciting this week. Should be a short one……………………….
As always, first the chronology:
3/27/22 – Sunday – Up at the usual time. Got ready and Kathy and I went to church. Home and lunch. Did the blog. Then over to Gary’s for the afternoon get together. Home and helped Kathy get ready for the tribe to show up for dinner. Julie and the grand kids came over. Mike wasn’t feeling well. Then took Julie down to Daugherty’s to get her car. Home and usual evening routine.
3/28/22 – Monday – Up at the usual time. Cleaned up and out for some shopping. Rural King for coffee and some plant seeds then Lowes for some gnat spray and light bulbs. Stopped for Mexican on the way home. Home and put things away. Worked on TARPN the rest of the day. A snack for dinner and usual evening routine.
3/29/22 – Tuesday – Up at the usual time. Cleaned up and downstairs to do some shopping online. Ordered springs for under the seat on the riding mower and a new longbow. Looked at a couple other things. Had lunch then continued the cleanup process and worked on some TARPN things. Dinner and usual evening routine.
3/30/22 – Wednesday – Up a little late today and a late breakfast. Chores around the house then outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and do some cleaning up. Spent 3 to 4 hours outside. Inside and cleaned up. Out to Harbor Freight for a new work bench stool. Stopped at Cattleman’s Steakhouse for an early dinner on the way home. Swung by Dairy Queen for desert. Spent some time today getting warm clothes out and sorting through winter clothes and putting some away. Then the usual evening routine.
3/31/22 – Thursday – Up a little early today and out to pick up Gary for our haircuts. Took him home and stopped at Dollar General to check for their antacid brand. None in stock as is the case at most of their stores. Home and did some chores till Kathy got up. Then lunch and out for shopping at Ollie’s, Aldi’s and Kroger. Home and put things away. Had a great dinner then the usual evening routine.
4/1/22 – Friday – Up a little late this morning. Did my first of the month chores. Then made some phone calls wishing happy birthday and relaying some information I found for Gary. Played radio but bands where very poor. Did make a ECARS contact. Had lunch and napped the afternoon away. What a waste. Had dinner and usual evening routine.
4/2/22 – Saturday – Up at the usual time. Regular Saturday morning chores. Cleaned up and out to Radcliff to meet the guys I’ve been working with. Had a great lunch and chatted. Home and some computer work. Kathy was out with Julie and Chloe all day. Dinner and usual evening routine.
Now the specifics:
I gave up on the bow I was trying to rebuild. It just wasn’t doing the job. Beside, it was for a young kid much shorter than me and it had a very light pull. So I did some shopping and all the ones I really wanted had a 12 week lead time. That would put it very close in terms of getting practiced up and then participating in the archery contest at the Renaissance Fare. So I bought the next best thing. It arrived this week and looks like it will work out very well. While I was out cleaning up I had to discard the straw bails I had for practice last year so I’ll need to get some more this week. Then it will be back to practicing. I’ll keep you posted on that.
Had several things happen this week relative to TARPN. I’ve still not been able to pass 9600 baud between modems. Not sure what the issue is. Almost ready to write for some help. I also have an issue with the antenna for TARPN being too close to my dual band VHF/UHF radio antenna. So I ordered a new dual band antenna with a little more gain and will move the Yagi to the opposite side of the house. That should be about 50 feet so that should resolve the issues I’m having. I also made a trip over to Radcliff this week to meet the guys I’ve been working with on this. Good guys. Very much the same mind set as me.
While I was shopping I also order the parts to repair the seat suspension on the lawn tractor. It just sits on a couple springs and one is broke so I order replacements for those.
Only other thing worth mentioning is our life style. Seems we are seldom able to make it through the day without taking a nap in the afternoon which really wastes a bunch of time. So we have been trying to come up with things to do during the day to stay busy so we don’t waste that time. It has been working most of the time but we still have down days.
That’s about all the excitement for this week. As always, hope this finds everyone safe and healthy. Stay that way. Blog at you again next week.
