Not exciting but productive week………………………………………………

As always, first the chronology:

4/24/22 – Sunday – Up at the usual time.  Cleaned up and out to church with Kathy.  Home and lunch.  Kathy took off to help Julie with planting flowers.  I went down and did the blog.  Then over to Gary’s for the usual Sunday afternoon get together.  Back and waited for Kathy to come home.  Then off to the Longhorn Steakhouse for dinner.  Home and usual evening routine.

4/25/22 – Monday – Up at the usual time.  Spent most of the day working on getting my second port up on my TARPN node.  Kathy went to the dentist this afternoon to get a new crown.  I tried to take a nap but that didn’t work.  Got cleaned up and out to voting officer training.  Kathy went to dog training class.  I got home and snacks for dinner.  Otherwise, usual evening routine.

4/26/22 – Tuesday – Up at the usual time.  Cleaned up and out to do some shopping.  Kathy was out to take Carter’s back pack to him at school then to JCPenny’s to return some things.  I had lunch while I was out then home and waited for Kathy to come home.  Then grocery shopping.  Home and put things away.  A little nap. Up and Kathy was busy with other things so I went down and did my nightly radio things.  Back upstairs and grilled some burgers for dinner.  Otherwise, usual evening routine.

4/27/22 – Wednesday – Up at the usual time.  Out to do yard work.  Took a break around 12:30 for a snack.  Finished up around 3PM.  Looks good.  Inside, a nap, shower and dinner.  Usual evening routine.

4/28/22 – Thursday – Up a little early this morning, cleaned up and out to pick up Gary for our hair cuts.  Took Gary back home then did some chores around the house.  Lunch.  Fixed the leak under the kitchen sink.  Practiced my archery. Took a nap.  Checked radio bands off and on today.  Never really great.  Good dinner and usual evening routine.

4/29/22 – Friday – Up at the usual time.  Spent the morning in the shack uploading logs.  Found out my certificate with the ARRL had expired so I had to apply for a new one.  Also called them about another problem but they were not receptive to taking my complaint.  Not a big thing.  Had a light lunch then upgraded some software.  Worked some station on digital.  Kathy went out and brought back Chinese for dinner.  Usual evening routine.  Ah, also put up the lights around the railing on the back deck.  Need to get a remote switche for it.

4/30/22 – Saturday – Up at the usual time.  Kathy took off to spend time with Julie and the grandchildren.  I went over to Lowes and got a couple remote switches for the outside light strings.  Stopped at Arby’s on the way home for an early lunch.  Got home and took out the dogs.  Then started with chores.  Replace some burned out light bulbs in the garage.  Tried to get the WiFi remote switch working to no avail.  Put the lights up around the pool.  Took care of writing the check to the heating and AC folks for a service contract.  Kathy came home around 4.  Had dinner and usual evening routine.

Now the specifics:

Put up a second port on my TARPN node. That just means I can link to two people at the same time. Nothing exciting but it other then it was a challenge so I had to do it.

Monday night I went to PEO (Polling Election Officer) training. Now I’m sworn in officially. Spent a couple hours at training as they have new machines here. Everything has a paper ballot. I wonder why that is?

Kathy went to the last night of her doggy school Monday. Rusty graduated and his picture was on facebook. Not sure about Kathy graduating.

Wednesday we did the yard work.

Looks pretty good if I do say so my self. Sometimes I look at what we have here and wonder how we got so lucky.

Thursday was the day for hair cuts. I went over and picked up Gary and then off to Blue Moon. Yep that’s what the “Salon” is called where we get our hair cut. Came home and fixed a leak under the sink. The drain pipe just came apart so that was an easy fix.

Friday I decided it was up upload/upgrade day. I uploaded all my logs and found out that the security certificate with the ARRL had expired. So I had to apply for a new one before I upload logs to them. While doing that I noticed that my VE status was not listed on my profile. I brought it to their attention but it fell on deaf ears. Not a big thing. Doesn’t make me money. After lunch I managed to upgrade some software that was somewhat out of date. After upgrading to .20 I happened to notice my friend John in Florida was on. I chatted with him awhile and he advised me that version .21 was about to come out. Figures.

Saturday Kathy took off to spend time with Julie and the grand kids. So I did chores around the house. Had to replace a couple burnt out bulbs in the garage. I put the lights up around the pool deck and got the remote working for those. I bought a smart remote for the lights around the back deck so we can turn them on with our phones if we want to come in that way but I couldn’t get it to work. I will call the tech support Monday if time allows and if they can’t help me get it working I’ll take it back. I’ll try to get a nice picture of the lights sometime. I’ll have to catch it at the right time.

I did get a chance to do some practicing with the bow.
