A very busy week…………………………………………………..

As always, first the chronology:

10/2/22 – Sunday – Up at the usual time.  Out to church with Kathy.  Stayed after service for cake and drinks for the Woman’s Group.  Home and had a snack for lunch.  Did the blog then over to Gary’s for the afternoon get together.  Home and picked up Kathy.  Planned on Milano’s for dinner but they were closed.  So we went to Aspen Creek.  Then home and usual evening routine.

10/3/22 – Monday – Up early this morning.  Out to a doctor’s appointment at 7:45.  Got back home around 10AM.  Did some computer work till lunch.  Then out to the church with the tractor and sprayer to spray weeds.  Home and a nap.  Dinner and usual evening routine.

10/4/22 – Tuesday – Up at the usual time.  Kathy was off for a doctor’s appointment.  I cleaned up the work bench in the shack.  She came home and we were off to Arby’s for lunch and a stop at Lowes for weed killer.  Home and continued working on SVXLink.  Dinner and usual evening routine.

10/5/22 – Wednesday – Up at the usual time.  Out to spot spray the areas we missed on Monday with the sprayer.  Home and lunch.  Kathy took Bella up to Crestwood to get groomed.  Did a bunch of shopping while up there.  I did some reading and kept Rusty from going bonkers.  Dinner and usual evening routine.

10/6/22 – Thursday – Up at the usual time and over to Gary’s.  He did not get on the air last night so I went over to see what the problem was.  I didn’t see anything wrong.  I think he just is getting more confused and can’t operate things correctly.  Home and worked a little on the SVXLink project.  Lunch.  Kathy was off with Rusty to get him groomed.  I took off on the motorcycle for awhile.  Just had to take advantage of the great weather.  Didn’t go anywhere special, just had to get out.  Back home and did some reading.  Then chatted with the guys.  Had a very late dinner as Kathy was late getting back with Rusty.

10/7/22 – Friday – Up at the usual time.  Chores around the house and out at noon for a bone density test.  Home and down to the church to help setup for Octoberfest tomorrow.  Into J-town and pizza for dinner.  Then a quick shopping trip at Kroger and home.  Usual eveing routine.

10/8/22 – Saturday – Up at the usual time.  Baking and getting things loaded in the truck to take to Octoberfest at the church.  Had a snack for lunch then down to the church.  Got there about 1:30.  Started setting up the remaining things in preparation for people to start coming around 4PM.  Had a light turnout.  Julie and Mike came so we had dinner with them.  Everyone was gone by 7PM.  Then started the clean up.  Got home a little after 8PM.

Now the specifics:

You all are a bunch of turkeys. How long have I been going with the wrong dates on the blog and not one of you would let me know. Just let everyone thinking I’m starting to lose it in my old age. Thanks a lot.

Got SVXLink working sort of. It does what it’s suppose to but I have it configured for VOX or Voice Operated Control and that isn’t working reliably. So, this week I will try to get an interface assembled and the configuration files setup so it will be a hardwired transmit and receive. I will keep you posted.

Had a doctor’s appointment with the back doctor. He said my symptoms are typical of further deterioration of the spine. He sent me for a bone density test which I had Friday and he has me scheduled for a Millogram later this month. Then I find out if I’m a candidate for surgery or something else. One step at a time.

Was nice weather here Thursday and Kathy was gone for the day so I took off on the motorcycle. No where special just to get out and ride awhile. It was nice. Only did perhaps 60 mile but it was great.

Kathy was looking for an alternative to getting Bella and Rusty groomed. All the groomers around here are booked months in advance and charge an arm and a leg. So she tried a place in Crestwood about 1/2 hours drive from the house. Took Bell on Wednesday and Rusty on Thursday. Because of the distance from the house she just did some shopping in the area but spent 1/2 of the day both days. So, it didn’t work out as well as she planned. We have a couple other options we will try next.

Yesterday was the Octoberfest at the church. So, Monday I went over with the garden tractor and the sprayer and sprayed all the vegetation in the parking lot to try and make it look a little better. Wednesday I went over with the spot sprayer and got the stuff I missed on Monday. Then Friday spent 6 hours over there putting up the 20 by 40 foot tent outside and getting somethings ready. Back Saturday afternoon before 2PM and stayed till around 8PM. A long day. But we had fun. Not a great turnout but we didn’t expect to make money. Just more of an out reach program.
