A couple great things happened this week…………………………………

As always, first the chronology:

11/27/22 – Sunday – Up at the usual time.  Cleaned up and off to church with Kathy.  Home and lunch.  Down to do the blog.  Over to Gary’s for the afternoon get together.  Home, picked up Kathy and over to Applebee’s for dinner.  Home and usual evening routine.

11/28/22 – Monday – Up a little late this morning.  Didn’t sleep again last night.  Did some chores around the house and some banking.  Had lunch and Kathy and I went off to find a desk chair for her.  Got one at the second Office Max we stopped at.  Stopped for some groceries on the way home.  Got home and unloaded everything and put the truck away.  Inside and put her chair together.  Down to the shack.  Made a PSK contact with Cuba.  Up for dinner and usual evening routine.

11/29/22 – Tuesday – Up a little early this morning.  Didn’t sleep for shit last night.  Had to get the golf cart out of the garage and Kathy’s car out of the way so they could get the garage doors installed today.  Spent the morning catching up on things.  Lunch then to the shack.  Did some cleaning up and chatted on the radio.  Dinner and usual evening routine.

11/30/22 – Wednesday – Up a little late this morning.  Slept well last night.  Spent the morning getting the MyQ system working on the new garage doors.  Lunch then a short nap.  Checked the radio and it was dead.  Got cleaned up and down to church for soup at 6PM and service at 7PM.  Some shopping on the way home otherwise usual evening routine.

12/1/22 – Thursday – Up at the usual time.  Chores around the house.  Into Kroger for some shopping and pick up prescription.  Picked up McDonald’s for lunch.  Home and put things away.  Got things ready for our company later today.  Ran some food over to Bill and Donna for dinner.  Ron and Linda came, we had dinner and socialized the rest of the evening.

12/2/22 – Friday – Up at the usual time.  Spent the morning socializing with Ron and Linda.  Had lunch then headed into Louisville and went through the Mega Caverns to see the Christmas lights.  Ron took us to the Longhorn for dinner.  Home and usual evening routine.

12/3/22 – Saturday – Up a little early this morning.  Ron and Linda had a long days travel so they wanted to get an early start.  Kathy and I took a little nap and started cleaning things.  Then out to see Chloe perform in the Nutcracker in a Nutshell at the Palace theater in downtown Louisville.  Went to the Yoki buffet for dinner afterward.  Home and usual evening routine.

Now the specifics:

We had two exciting things this week. Since one was our grand daughter I guess I’ll put that first.

Chloe performed in the Nutcracker in a Nutshell again this year at the Palace in downtown Louisville on Saturday. The theater is beautiful.

As you can see, very ornate and old style. The entire theater is this way. Just amazes me every time I go there.

And of course, I had to take a selfie of Julie, Kathy and me. I couldn’t get the rest of the family in.

And the two costumes that Chloe wore. It was amazing all the work they put into this and all the more time they spent on stage. But still, I was a very. very proud grandfather.

The second exiting thing was my friend and previous co-worker Ron and his wife came to visit awhile on there way to Florida They departed Denver, Colorado on Wednesday morning and stopped in our house Thursday afternoon. We spent the evening Wednesday chatting and enjoying the company. Friday we went into the mega caverns to see the Christmas display. Then Ron took us all out to eat. We spent Friday evening chatting and doing some things around the house. Then they left our house Saturday morning and headed on down. I think I’ve seen more of Ron since we retired than we did the entire time we were working together.

Kathy wanted a new desk chair for her office. The desk is built in and they made it 33″ off the floor which is about 4″ higher than the standard desk. So I looked at desk chairs and they just wouldn’t go that high so I looked at a couple drafting chairs and they will go down far enough. So that’s what we went shopping for on Monday. Got it home and put together and of course she wasn’t happy with it. I don’t know where to go from here. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

We had the garage doors replaced at the house. We also replaced one of the openers. The new opener had MyQ built in and the sensors on both doors disappeared. So I had a spare sensor and put it on the door we did not replace the opener on. I paired that along with the new opener and everything is good now. btw, MyQ is an app that allows you to see if your garage doors are open or closed and to operate them remotely anywhere you have cell phone service or wifi access.

The Advent season has started at church. That means an extra service on Wednesday evening. The up side is that they have soup or something light to eat before the service. So, we went down last Wednesday for Taco Soup that was very good. This week Kathy is making chile. So I know that will be good. And next week will be Leeta’s turn and everything she makes is good. So, long story short, I’ll get some good meals on Wednesday evening for the next 3 weeks.

I guess that’s all the excitement for this week. As always, hope this finds everyone safe and healthy. Stay that way. blog at you again next week.
