Week Ending 5/2/26

A rather productive week………………………………………………….

As always, first the chronology:

4/26/26 – Sunday – We blew off church today. Kathy went out shopping with Julie. I did chores around the house. Kathy got home late afternoon and we took a short nap. Then to Elk Creek and the Mexican restaurant for dinner. Home and usual evening routine.

4/27/26 – Monday – Up at 6AM and into work. Had a hearing that only lasted a couple hours. Home, lunch and a nap. Up and chores around the house. Dinner and usual evening routine.

4/28/26 – Tuesday – Up around 8AM. Kathy went with me to the Orthopedic doctor. Came back to Taylorsville and had lunch at Lynda’s. Home and a nap. Up and out for a hair cut. Home and some chores then out to Shelbyville for a meeting on the bylaws of our HAM club.

4/29/26 – Wednesday – Up around 9AM. Down to the county clerks office to get the Eqinox and Jeep re-registered. Stopped at the Post Office and Ace hardware to pick up canning jars for Julie. Into Louisville and stopped at I-hop for lunch. Then to AAA to get an atlas and some information on our vacation. Over to Julie’s and dropped off the canning jars. Home and a snack. Had issues with the internet so patched that. Then bed.

4/30/26 – Thursday – Up at 6AM and into work. Had a hearing in family court that was over by 10AM. Back to the annex and covered the door the rest of the day. Home and dinner. Usual evening routine.

5/1/26 – Friday – Up around 9AM. Tried to fix the internet but it failed again when Kathy got home. Chloe and Shelby came over to the Blue Moon to get Shelby’s hair done. Kathy went out to lunch with them. Chores in the afternoon, dinner and usual evening routine.

5/2/26 – Saturday – Up around 8AM. Managed to get motivated to get cleaned up and do some chores around the house. Kathy was suppose to go to Julie’s and help her do some organizing but Julie decided to play in mulch instead.

Now the particulars:

Good thing about the week was the short court sessions. Most were hearings and they bunch them together like they do trial week. Other than Thursday I only worked one half day. Things will be light the next couple weeks then on the 20th we have a murder trial. That should be very interesting and challenging. Tempers tend to flair on those issues. More challenge keeping the gallery in check than anything else.

Tuesday I got to see the orthopedic doctor. Basically he said if I was ready for a knee replacement he would make it happen. I got an appointment with the surgeon but was told they wouldn’t operate till 3 months after I had the injections in case of infection. Now I don’t know who to believe. The doctor said it would be up to 3 months recovery. Julie said I could do it in 3 to 4 weeks. I’m not sure how that will turn out but I’ll keep you posted.

The Rice and Pressler family was scheduled to go on a trip together this summer. However, Carter had a great offer doing an internship that would be most of the summer so that put the stop to that idea. However, the girls still wanted to go to the beach. So Kathy and I agreed to take them to the beach. Kathy wanted to get an Atlas so she could visualize were places where. So we made a trip into Louisville to the AAA office on Wednesday to get the Atlas. Only cost us $1.05. While there we chatted with a vacation advisor who suggested a place in Michigan along the lake. She was from Chicago and said all the well to do go up there for vacation in the summer. And it’s only about a 3 to 4 hour drive compared to a two day drive to the Carolina’s or some where more southern. So Kathy now has all the information to plan that. We’ll see what happens.

Had internet issues that are intermittent and only affects Kathy’s computer. Seems to me it had to be one of two ports or the cable between them. I have that bypassed for now so she is happy. I’ll work on that again when I have time.

That is all the excitement for this week. As always, hope this finds you safe and healthy. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again next week.
