Sorry, running a little late this week………………………………………………………………………….
As always, first the chronology:
6/14/26 – Sunday – Up around 8AM. Blew off church and did some chores around the house. Had lunch and went over to Gary’s for the afternoon get together. Then out to Hometown Pizza for dinner. Usual evening routine.
6/15/26 – Monday was a rainy and dreary day. Didn’t do much. Took a couple naps and did some things around the house. Meals were screwed up in terms of time. Usual evening routine.
6/16/26 – Tuesday – Up around 8AM. Cleaned up and out to the Endodontics for an evaluation. It was determined that one of my teeth did in fact need a root canal. As luck would have it, they had an opening in the afternoon so I went and had the procedure done. Kathy drove so I wasn’t a danger to traffic on the way home. Had macaroni and cheese for dinner. Usual evening routine.
6/17/26 – Wednesday – Up around 8AM. Out and cut branches in the morning. In for lunch. Then out to mow the yard. In for dinner and usual evening routine.
6/18/26 – Thursday – Up at 5:30AM and into work to do the 7:30AM to 4PM shift on the circuit court clerks office. Home dinner and to bed.
6/19/26 – Friday – Up around 9AM. Kathy was off to clean the church. I spent the morning setting up appointments for HVAC maintenance and a few other things. Then did my online Pre-Op interview with the hospital for my knee replacement. Had a late lunch when Kathy came home. A nap, dinner and usual evening routine.
6/20/26 – Saturday – Tried to fix the bump head on the wife’s string trimmer but got an cheap Chinese knockoff and it didn’t work. Kathy sprayed some weeds and chiggers. Not much else exciting for the.
Now the specifics:
A couple months ago I was in court working and bumped my upper lip and it was tender. It was a short day so I stopped by the dentist’s office on the say home. They took a look at it and said I needed a root canal and gave me 10 days of Amoxicillin. I finished up the Amoxicillin and everything was fine. So I thought the root canal stuff was just BS. I called the people we usual go to and they changed names and do not take Cigna insurance. So I found this other guy from the Cigna website and made and appointment with him. A really great guy and had all kind of nifty toys. So he checked me out and determined that I did need a root canal. He had an opening in the afternoon and asked me to come back. So I did. It took less than and hour to do the root canal and all he gave me was novacaine. Once the novacaine wore off, I had no pain or any difficulties of any kind. Really a lot different process than what it used to be.
Wednesday we got up and decided to do yard work. First thing was to cut down some limbs that were in the way when we mowed and a couple over were we park the car. Then lunch and out to start mowing. We have it down to a science now and can get it done in a couple hours. We didn’t do any trimming as it was late. We will save that for another day.
Thursday I did my usual shift on the door at the circuit court clerks office. That’s the last I’ll work for awhile. I called the boss this weekend and told her I could not do my job and do it safely anymore. She understood and told me to write a letter requesting a leave of absence and I told her I’d get that too her Tuesday. That will be the end of that till after the knee replacement a rehab. I also called the president of our ham club and told him I need to drop out of the for awhile. Now I can concentrate on getting things done for this knee replacement.
Friday morning I did the call with the Pre-Op team at the hospital for my knee replacement. Very nice lady took a bunch of history and sent me some directions. Just anxious as hell to get this over with.
I ordered a bump head for the wife’s Ryobi string trimmer off Amazon. I got what looked like the correct thing but when I tried to install it there were subtle little differences and I couldn’t get it to work. I should have known when they ask $35 at Homedepot and Amazon wanted $20 that it would be a problem. Just a word to the wise, be careful of Chinese Knockoffs you get from Amazon.
Well, a little more excitement this week than usual. Home this finds you all safe and healthy. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again next week.
