A very busy week……………………………………………………………………………
As always, first the chronology:
6/28/26 – Sunday – Up around 9AM. Kathy went to church and I stayed home. Kathy got home a little after noon and we had lunch. I blew off going to Gary’s today as well. Got cleaned up and went out to Arby’s for dinner.
6/29/26 – Monday – Up around 9AM. Kathy and I went to the Morton building to see if we had enough lumber to fix the bridge. Then loaded empty gas cans in the truck and went to Dairy Queen for lunch. Stopped at Country Mart for some groceries then to the gas station to fill up gas cans. Home and unloaded things. Spent the afternoon making phone calls about what medications I have to stop and when. Also got a form for a handicap placard for the car.
6/30/26 – Tuesday – Up at 8AM and out for a hair cut at 10. Down to Taylorsville and the county clerks office to get my handicap sticker. Lunch then out to mow the lawn. Heat got to me after a couple hours so came in and cooled down. Took a short nap then dinner. Usual evening routine.
7/1/26 – Wednesday – up at 8AM. Breakfast and washed up. Waited for lady from housecalls to come. Spent the morning with her. Kathy took Bella to the vets. She came back and we had lunch. Then a nap for most of the afternoon. Out to Hometown Pizza for dinner. We both had salads. Then a quick stop at Country Mart. Home and usual evening routine.
7/2/26 – Thursday – Kathy was up and out to do her volunteer service at the VA hospital. During this summer she is taking Julie as both kids need a car. I spent the day doing absolutely nothing. The house was quiet and I was tired. Did manage to get up for a little lunch. Kathy came home around 5PM. We had dinner then the usual evening routine.
7/3/26 – Friday – Outside early before the heat to do some cleaning up. I hauled some brush back to our dump from the front yard. Took a break for lunch and continued with some chores outside. Inside, cooled down and nap. Up for a shower, dinner and usual evening routine.
7/4/26 – Saturday – Mike (My son in law) and my grandson Carter came over to help fix the bridge for me. They slaved most of the morning Then we needed some concrete. We went up to Lowes to get some about the same time Julie and Shelby showed up. We stopped to have lunch then they mixed and poured concrete. Finished up late afternoon and went home. We cleaned up, had a snack and to bed.
Now the specifics:
We had a little scare this week. Bella started acting very strange Tuesday. Falling a lot and losing her orientation. No drink, no eat. Kathy took her to the Vet and he diagnosed it as a TIA. Gave her some shots and let her come home. She has made a miraculous recovery. We didn’t think she was going to come home from the vets.
Tuesday I got my hair cut and went to Taylorsville and got my handicap sticker. Never thought I’d have one of those. Then we did lawn work. Doesn’t bother me at all to get on the mower and mow. It is just very funny watching me get on and off.
Friday we cleaned up some stuff in the yard. Nothing notable about that.
Saturday my daughter, son-in-law, and 2 of 3 grand kids came over to help fix up the bridge. The side near the house was started to deteriorate and wash out with all the water. If I was able I would have put down a couple bags of concrete where it washed out and moved some rocks to divert the water. Well, my son-in-law had a completely different idea and since I could do anything it was his job. It’s probably 10 times better than I’ve had done but it is what it is.
I’m getting close to surgery. A week from Monday. I can’t wait. I have a feeling this is going to be the longest week I’ve spent in a long time.
It doesn’t seem like much in writing but was a lot of work here. Anyway, as always I hope this finds you healthy and safe. Stay that way and I’ll blog at you again next week.
